Some Viewpoints Of The War Of Liao Dynasty And Koryo Dynasty And The Political Relation Of Liao And Dynasty And Songd

In the ten century AD, after the Tang Dynasty perishing, Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms appeared successively in the center of China. After The Song Dynasty appearing in the south of china, it unified these small countries gradually, but, at the same time, The Liao Dynasty had became also very strong in the north of China, so The Song Dynasty and The Liao Dynasty had became opponent each other. Facing this politics complexion in China, Koryo Dynasty had to make new foreign policy about these two countries. The relation of The Liao Dynasty, Koryo Dynasty and The Song Dynasty was the most important international relation in the Northeast Asia during this time.The thesis consists of five chapters.The first one is introduction, which includes the purpose and significance of this research, these internal and international research results, research method and innovation etc three parts.The second one expatiate the political situation of the Northeast Asia before the war between Liao Dynasty and Koryo Dynasty and selective analyse the reason of the war. For resolving the difficulties of marching to south, The Liao Dynasty finished off Bohai State at 926AD. The perdition of Bohai State made The Liao Dynasty and Koryo Dynasty to lose buffer zone and resulted the two countries in disliking each other. Koryo Dynasty wanted to expand its territory to north and adopted uncompromising policy about Liao kingdom, which made the relation of two country to be worse After perdition of Bohai State, a large number of people of Bohai State fleed to Koryo Dynasty, they were properly arranged, which intensified enthusiasm of fleeing to Koryo Dynasty and weaken national power of Dongdan State. The question of Bohai State is brief reason of war.The third one expounds the thrice war of The Liao Dynasty and Koryo Dynasty in the late 10th century and the early 11th century, concretely analyses the direct reason and the result of every war. In addition, analyse the strategy of Liao Dynasty and Koryo Dynasty and the attitude of the Song Dynasty about the war.The fourth chapter expounds the change of external relations of the three countries respectively after the war. Koryo Dynasty submitting to Liao Dynasty after the war, Liao Dynasty gain his ends so change foreign policy. Liao Dynasty and Koryo Dynasty keep peace in generally. But under intense military pressure of Liao Dynasty, Koryo Dynasty once broke off relation with Song Dynasty, until after 40 years, the two countries restore the relationship, but this relationship has changed completely. Liao Dynasty and Song Dynasty signed the Chanyuan covenant during the war, their relationship turned from opposition to peace, in the meantime, Song Dynasty usually made some policies to associate with Koryo Dynasty to strike Liao kingdom during this time. This chapter illustrate Liao Dynasty and Koryo Dynasty and Song Dynasty adjust their foreign policy and change relation of these countries.The last one is conclusion, analyses and summarizes the reason of the war and evolution of the three countries.
