Abstract/Summary:
The imperial examination was an important matter in the political and social life in ancient China. The state selected many talents with outstanding ability through the imperial examination. The number of talents in the imperial examination,to a large extent reflects the political environment and the development level of economy, culture and education. These factors profoundly affect the distribution of imperial examination talents, and the distribution of imperial examination talents also reflects the local development. The in-depth study of imperial examination talents for talents and Jinshi in different regions is helpful to better explore the interaction between imperial examination talents and local society. After the establishment of the Qing Dynasty, the imperial examination was also regarded as an important way to select talents. The imperial examination system became more and more perfect, and the imperial examination system was gradually complete. In the Qing Dynasty,a large number of imperial examination talents emerged in Shanxi, and both the number of talents and the proportion of the whole country were increased compared with the previous generation. These imperial examination talents became an important political and social force in Shanxi in the Qing Dynasty. From the perspective of time distribution, the number of Shanxi talents in the Qing Dynasty showed a wavy upward trend, while the number of Jinshi talents showed a downward trend;from the perspective of regional distribution and distribution density, the number of imperial examination talents in southwest Shanxi is larger and more dense, while the north Shanxi is relatively backward. In the Qing Dynasty, the geographical distribution of Shanxi scholars and Jinshi talents showed the characteristics of the asynchronicity of time change, the universality and imbalance of geographical distribution. Its geographical distribution pattern is the result of the common influence and shaping of various elements of nature and humanity.Cultural factors such as political environment, economic conditions, culture and education directly affect its geographical distribution, while natural factors play a role indirectly by influencing cultural factors. In the Qing Dynasty,Shanxi imperial examination talents,as local scholars, showed high cultural accomplishment and official ability. They have played an important role in the local economic development, cultural and educational construction, and have exerted a profound and lasting impact on the development of various parts of Shanxi Province.
