Nowadays, the development of network technology is accelerating, and the network has become the main tool for middle school students to socialize.Because of the convenience and concealment of the Internet, the phenomenon of middle school students’ cyberbullying has emerged endlessly. However, the academic community has not systematically explored the problem of cyberbullying from the family, peer and individual levels, especially the lack of cognition and the lack of corresponding intervention measures in preventing cyberbullying. At present, there are many researches on the influencing factors of cyberbullying. Some studies have shown that childhood emotional abuse can directly affect it,and the influencing mechanism needs to be further explored.Based on this, this study explores the mechanism of influence of childhood emotional abuse on middle school students’ cyberbullying, introduces two mediating variables, dark personality and moral disengagement, and examines the moderating role of friend support. This study takes 1669 middle school students in Guangzhou as the research subjects, and measures their childhood emotional abuse, dark personality, moral disengagement, cyberbullying, and friend support through a questionnaire.SPSS26.0 and its macro program PROCESS are used to organize and statistically analyze the data. The results are as follows:(1)There is a significant pairwise correlation between the five variables of childhood emotional abuse, dark personality, moral disengagment, cyberbullying, and friend support.(2)Childhood emotional abuse positively predicts the level of dark personality in middle school students, and dark personality positively predicts cyberbullying.Dark personality plays a mediating role between childhood emotional abuse and cyberbullying.(3)Childhood emotional abuse positively predicts moral disengagement in middle school students, and moral disengagement positively predicts cyberbullying.Moral disengagement plays a mediating role between childhood emotional abuse and cyberbullying.(4)Dark personality positively predicts moral disengagment, and dark personality and moral disengagment play a chain mediating role between childhood emotional abuse and cyberbullying.(5)Friend support plays a moderating role in the direct pathway of childhood emotional abuse affecting cyberbullying,as well as in the first half of the indirect pathway of childhood emotional abuse influencing cyberbullying through dark personality and moral disengagment. In summary, this study concludes that childhood emotional abuse can directly affect cyberbullying;Childhood emotional abuse can indirectly affect middle school students’ cyberbullying through dark personality and moral disengagement; At the same time, the level of friend support can regulate the impact of dark personality and moral disengagement on middle school students’ cyberbullying, thereby indirectly alleviating the negative impact of childhood emotional abuse on middle school students’ cyberbullying.
