This essay mainly introduces and analyzes the creation background,characteristics,performance skills and difficulties of Sigfrid Karg-Elert’s flute piece "Sonata Appassionata Op.140",and analyzes its musicality and performance similarities and differences from the performance audio versions of two flute players whose names are Pahud and Graf.The piece combines the gorgeous and passionate of the romantics style.And it also has the exaggerated and complex of the modernist style.The style of music has a strong sense of contrast,the use of harmony is relatively free,and the technical requirements are also very high.According to the analysis of this piece,the author can deepen the understanding of the style and characteristics of this piece of music,so as to learn from and improve his performance skill in the practice.
