As children get older and academic pressure increases,it seems that the relationship between teenagers and their parents during the "storm" period is not as close as it was as children. The good parent-child relationship between parents and teenagers depends on both sides to manage, parents’ education style, children’s emotional performance will affect the quality of the relationship.According to the 2022 Youth Mental Health Survey Report, family factors are closely related to adolescents’ mental health, and adolescents are at higher risk for mental health due to family tensions, poor parental relations, parents’ migrant work and lack of companionship.Therefore,in-depth study of adolescent parent-child relationship is particularly important. Therefore, this study aims to explore the influence of parental emotional socialization and adolescent cognitive assessment on the parent-child relationship of adolescents. This research is mainly divided into two sub-studies:Study 1: The Chinese version of the Parent-Adolescent Relationship Scale(PARS)was revised.Firstly, the PARS scale was translated and translated back several times to determine the contents of the final scale item. Then, the determined Chinese version of PARS and related criterion questionnaires were sent to adolescents in a middle school in Guiyang to fill out.Item analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, measurement invariance and criterion validity analysis,as well as reliability analysis of αcoefficient, composite reliability and retest reliability were used to test the measurement attributes of Chinese version of PARS.The results showed that the revised Chinese version of PARS completely retained the original version of 15 items, divided into three dimensions of participation, linkage and hostility. The three-factor structure of the Chinese version of the PARS satisfies the cross-gender and cross-parent measurement invariance.Criterion validity showed that participation and connectedness were positively correlated with positive parenting styles and family cohesion, hostility and poor supervision were positively correlated with open family conflict. The reliability of each dimension of the PARS satisfies the psychometric characteristics.Study 2: discussed the factors of parents and children that affect parent-child relationship, conducted a 9-month follow-up survey on high school students, and finally tracked a total of 476 effective subjects.By establishing a cross-lag model, the causal relationship between paternal emotional socialization, adolescent cognitive reappraisal and parent-child relationship, and the causal relationship between maternal emotional socialization, adolescent cognitive reappraisal and mother-child relationship were investigated respectively, and the longitudinal mediating effect of adolescent cognitive reappraisal on paternal/maternal emotional socialization and father/mother-child relationship was examined. The results showed that:(1)Fathers’ supportive responses and parent-child relationship positively predicted each other, fathers’ unsupportive responses and parent-child relationship negatively predicted each other, fathers’ supportive responses positively predicted adolescent cognitive reappraisal,mid-term unsupportive responses negatively predicted adolescent cognitive reappraisal, adolescents’ cognitive reappraisal strategies positively predicted parent-child relationship.(2)Mothers’ supportive responses positively predicted the parent-child relationship, mothers’ non-supportive responses negatively predicted the parent-child relationship, mothers’ supportive responses positively predicted adolescent cognitive reappraisal,mid-term unsupportive responses negatively predicted adolescent cognitive reappraisal, adolescents’ cognitive reappraisal strategies positively predicted the parent-child relationship.(3)Adolescent cognitive reappraisal plays a longitudinal mediating role in the effect of supportive parental response on parent-child relationship. In conclusion, the Chinese version of adolescent parent-child relationship questionnaire(PARS)has good reliability and validity, and can evaluate the quality of adolescent parent-child relationship. There is a close correlation between parental emotional socialization, adolescent cognitive reappraisal and parent-child relationship.Adolescent cognitive reappraisal has a longitudinal mediating effect between parents’ supportive response and parent-child relationship.
