COVID-19 has a great impact on the lives of people around the world.Under the high pressure,people have developed negative emotions and psychological problems.Mental Health Effects of COVID-19 explores the causes and manifestations of psychological problems and then gives corresponding suggestions.This book falls into an academic text with complex sentence patterns,rigorous logic and standard language.The translation materials selected are chapter 7,chapter 8,chapter 10 and chapter 11 of the book.Chesterman’s translation ethics has five models and they can be applied to different aspects of translation.The author adopts the five models of Chesterman’s translation ethics,namely,ethics of representation,ethics of service,ethics of communication,norm-based ethics,and ethics of commitment and selects the corresponding translation methods accordingly.For example,the author adopts the translation methods of conversion and division to do some translation practice from different perspectives.In addition,the translator tries to improve the translation quality by using methods like omission and addition.Based on above practices,the report concludes that the translation ethics has certain guiding significance for the translation of social science texts.
