Empty The Heart And Mind

The idea of creating white in the empty room is a philosophical idea put forward by Zhuangzi.It means that if the room is messy,the sunlight will not enter.Only when everything is cleared away,can the light be generated.As a realm of freedom,the virtual room becomes a way for artists to pay attention to their hearts and express their personal will.By studying the expression and significance of virtual room producing white in Chinese and Western paintings as well as the embodiment of its particularity in contemporary art,this paper presents audiences with different understandings of virtual room producing white and their understanding of the essence of art.In different periods of art history,there are different manifestations and characteristics of the virtual room,which is of great help to the author’s artistic creation.Due to the influence of external environment,the author actively uses painting to record personal experience,constantly explores,and finally finds his own artistic language style,creating the Sound of Silence series of works.What this paper discusses is the expression of the virtual room in different works and the influence on the author’s own artistic creation.
