Zhang Henshui’s Landscape Writing

The analysis of landscape was first reflected in the western literary context,and thus explained numerous theories of landscape culture.However,as a traditional Chinese writer,Zhang Henshui has always had a special preference for landscape.His unique pursuit makes Zhang Henshui’s landscape writing on the one hand reflect the real feeling of his own travel experience at the micro level.On the other hand,it is a kind of macroscopic social and cultural writing.The landscape not only carries Zhang Henshui’s personal experience,but also connects the interaction between the natural environment and the nation state.The landscape in Zhang Henshui’s works,which is discussed in this paper,includes not only the real natural landscape,but also the social humanistic landscape,which is a comprehensive concept.In the introduction part,the concept of landscape is systematically explained in order to form the important significance of landscape writing in literature.Secondly,combing the review of the relevant studies on landscape and Zhang Henshui,to find out the uniqueness of Zhang Henshui’s landscape writing;Finally,the method and value of the research are explained.The first chapter mainly analyzes the landscape writing of Zhang Henshui’s works.When analyzing Zhang Henshui’s landscape writing,it is most necessary to distinguish the landscape types in specific works.The first is the realistic scenery,which is represented by different urban geographical landscape writing.Zhang Henshui has traveled to many places,and many of his works are based on the city as the background to depict the natural scenery of the city.The second is folk custom landscape writing,Zhang Henshui as a traditional literati writer,wrote a large number of popular novels,including traditional festivals,weddings and funerals,clothing,food,housing and transportation;Subjectification of landscape and subjectification of subject landscape,Zhang Henshui mainly selects the perspective of daily scene to express landscape,and explores the spiritual direction behind it by cleverly arranging the relationship between landscape and individual.The second chapter mainly analyzes the implication of Zhang Henshui’s landscape writing.In the text,the integration of landscape into social and cultural communication and transmission will have stronger pointing meaning,and the landscape in literature will produce ambiguity.This chapter is divided into three parts: daily scenery,war scenery and walking scenery.Daily landscape through the countryside into the city,the return of the city to the countryside and the entanglement between the countryside and the city to find a new focus between them;The landscape of war is also different through the different subject identities of men and women.Men who fight directly on the front battlefield and women who wake up in the rear seek the victory of The Times and the construction of the modern country together.The walking scenery starts from Zhang Henshui’s identity as a journalist,and his special professional quality and journalist’s identity make the landscape writing more fit with the correlation of time and space.With the analysis of Zhang Henshui’s creation in the northwest,the author cleverly integrates the landscape into the passage of time.With the gradual development of the Northwest,the scenery along the way also changes.Behind the surface of the landscape is the huge difference in living standards between the east and the west and the urgent environmental form under the background,thus deepening the construction of the northwest,the reality of the nation state.The third chapter mainly analyzes the particularity of Zhang Henshui’s landscape writing.This chapter is about the significance of landscape writing in Zhang Henshui’s novels.It cuts into Zhang Henshui’s landscape writing from the macro and micro levels.The first section analyzes the reasons of landscape writing in Zhang Henshui’s works.They are the inheritance of traditional Chinese classical literature,the conscious pursuit of the writer’s subject and the life experience of the special era.The second section analyzes the role of landscape in literature as an aesthetic function and the value of cultural communication.By selecting small natural scenery or daily scenery to depict,nature and reality echo each other and reflect the emotion behind the author through plain and simple literary style.Finally,he can combine landscape with subjective consciousness.Under a specific background of The Times,firstly,under the strong inspiration of the nation and state,the individuality of literature will be further reduced.Under the influence of the social function of literature,Zhang Henshui’s own life experience and ideal pursuit can be perfectly integrated.To some extent,Zhang Henshui’s landscape writing indirectly solves the transformation of stylistic modernity.In literary creation,the orientation of appreciating both elegance and vulgarity also has infinite implication,thus producing infinite research value and significance.
