Since China’s native non-fiction writing was advocated by "People’s Literature" in2010,it has begun to have a "phenomenal" influence in the literary world. As a literary type respected by the mainstream culture, local non-fiction writing presents a prosperous scene of excellent works, and local writing is the mainstay of it.Liang Hong,Qiao Ye,Yan Lianke, and Zhou Xuanpu are well-known Henan writers in this wave of non-fiction.Their works show the vast rural life in Henan under the changing process of the times.Compared with the previous rural novels, the local writing in the non-fiction literature creation of contemporary Henan writers is richer and more authentic in terms of creation form, content presentation, and characterization. The prosperity of non-fictional local literature is by no means a temporary enthusiasm, but the desire of the times, the correction of the weak state of fictional literature writing, and the self-expansion and supplementation of local literature in the changing signs of the times. This paper mainly takes the non-fictional rural literature works created by contemporary Henan writers Liang Hong,Qiao Ye,Yan Lianke, and Zhou Xuanpu as the research object, aiming to make a holistic exploration of the rural world in their writings. The first chapter starts with the general situation of the development of local literature since modern times and the origin of non-fiction creation in China. It carefully sorts out the emergence and evolution process of local literature,as well as the current creative difficulties faced by local literature. As an imported product,non-fiction literature has successively gone through the stages of theoretical discussion and the guidance of mainstream journals on its creative ideas in China. The rise of non-fiction literature is inseparable from the strong support of the domestic literature market and the call of writers and readers for the authenticity and presence of works. It is also worth noting some of the debates surrounding non-fiction at a time when it is still in its infancy. In addition, there is also the question of when the "Non-Fiction Text" column of "Zhong Shan" was established, which also needs to be carefully verified based on various materials. The coupling of local literature and non-fiction writing is a process of mutual achievement.Local literature provides rich creative materials for non-fiction writing and uses its vast readership to expand the influence of non-fiction works.Non-fiction writing helps rural Literature updates the concept of creation, expands the narrative space of writing, and presents a more real and broad rural world. The second chapter revolves around the various living conditions in the countryside described by the four writers, starting from the countryside, villagers, and rural conditions in turn, presenting various changes within the countryside. The daily scene of the rural land, the mixed old and new living space inside the village, and the various changes in the natural living environment of the village together constitute the life picture of the contemporary countryside. The analysis of the living landscape of contemporary rural people,on the one hand, divides them into two categories according to their geographical location: rural left-behinds and invisible “presence”;Different vital characteristics produced by different gender identities.Nostalgia mainly refers to the ethical schema inside the village.Under the process of modernization and urbanization, more and more people pursue the concept of the supremacy of interests. Therefore, the weakening of moral concepts, changes in the ethical idea of filial piety, and traditional rituals appear in the countryside—simplified features. The third chapter analyzes the narrative characteristics of native writing in the non-fictional literature creation of contemporary Henan writers from three aspects: the writer’s multiple identity characteristics, the narrative intertextuality characteristics, and the narrative characteristics of setting up a biography for his hometown. The emotional connection between writers and their hometowns and the responsibilities and missions of intellectuals make them pay special attention to this land and the villagers living in it.Through the analysis of the intertextual characteristics in the writers’ works,we can know that the writers have been silently paying attention to their hometown, rather than their fictional presence and intervention in the creation of a way for them to understand the countryside more comprehensively, present more complex human nature, show Real survival scenarios provide opportunities. The narrating characteristics of biographies for hometowns mainly start from two aspects: the description of the history and legends of the hometown and the faithful record of the social status quo of the hometown and analyze the narrativity of the writers for the hometown biographies. |
