| On the basis of sorting out the data of people in Chongqing,Chongqing and Jiangxi not published in Ba County Archives,this paper takes Jiangxi merchants residing in Chongqing as the research object,uses the archives of Chongqing and Jiangxi merchants in Qing Dynasty,combines with other local documents such as local Chronicles and political documents,and places Jiangxi merchants in the commercial network,market system and Chongqing society during the period from Qianlong to Xuantong of Qing Dynasty.In order to have a comprehensive understanding and understanding of Chongqing and Jiangxi merchants during the period from Qianlong to Xuantong in Qing Dynasty and reveal the historical mechanism and internal logic of the localization of the merchants,the organization of Jiangxi merchants,the interaction between Jiangxi merchants and the society of the guest township and the society of the original township were investigated respectively.In this paper,there are 119 cases in the unpublished Ba County Archives.Among these files,a total of 110 cases are sorted out in accordance with the logical sequence of the emergence and development of the same case.These cases involve the commercial trade,political participation,social relief and cultural construction of the people in Chongqing and Jiangxi in the middle and late Qing Dynasty,which is an important material to understand the survival and life of the group of Jiangxi people in Chongqing in the middle and late Qing Dynasty.Through the investigation of the living conditions and local integration of the merchants who traveled to Chongqing and Jiangxi in the middle and late Qing Dynasty,we find that the inflow of Jiangxi merchants into Chongqing showed an overall rising trend from Qianlong to Xuantong period,and the peak period of activity was Qianlong and Guangxu period.In both periods,they showed strong activity both in terms of inflows and commercial trade.This group of Jiangxi merchants living in Chongqing mainly came from Ji ’an,Linchuan,Nankang,Jianchang,Ganzhou,Fuzhou,Ruizhou and Nanchang.After entering Chongqing,they mainly engaged in mountain goods,medicinal materials,magnetic instruments,tobacco soil,cloth,plank house and other categories,and carried out commercial activities extensively in Chongqing.In order to safeguard collective and individual interests,this group of Jiangxi businessmen spontaneously formed a business group,set up Jiangxi Guild hall,and made use of Jiangxi Guild Hall to help them settle industrial and commercial disputes and formulate industrial and commercial regulations.They also actively communicated and connected with other provincial immigrants,jointly worked for the province,and participated in the maintenance of Chongqing political order and political governance.At the same time,the attention on Chongqing’s urban construction,cultural and educational undertakings,as well as the participation in social relief undertakings are also the efforts of businessmen in Chongqing and Jiangxi to integrate into Chongqing society.In addition,in the process of constantlyintegrating into Chongqing society,they also keep in touch with their hometown by means of letters,family visits,marriage,etc.,integrating the hometown relationship into the existing relationship network,and speeding up the process of integrating into Chongqing society through the reuse of the hometown relationship.At the same time,in this process,Jiangxi merchants also used worship activities to the local gods of the original township to maintain and maintain the culture of the original township.Of course,under the calm surface of their integration into Chongqing society,they were continuously filled with many struggles with multi-interest groups.Therefore,in the middle and late Qing Dynasty,the merchants in Chongqing and Jiangxi integrated into Chongqing regional society was a gradual process of coexistence of harmony and conflict. |
