A Study Of American Anti-semitism 1933-1945

With the increase of immigration,in the late 19 th and early 20 th centuries,nativism with racism as the core gradually emerged in the United States,and anti-Semitism was one of its specific manifestations.Anti-Semitism in American history has had two high tides,and has taken different forms as the times have developed.The first was in the 20 s of the 20 th century,which was hidden in nativism,ambiguous and incomplete;The second was in the 1930 s,which was directed at Jews specifically and clearly based on the tradition of Christian prejudice.This paper is composed of introduction,text and conclusion,which is divided into six parts.The first part of the introduction introduces the origin and basis of the topic,research methods and research significance.The second part to the fifth part is the main body,which expounds the background of the rise of anti-Semitism in the United States from 1933 to 1945,the manifestation of the rise of anti-Semitism,the efforts to fight back against anti-Semitism,the decline of anti-Semitism and its historical impact.It mainly discusses that under the influence of the Christian prejudice tradition and the domestic and foreign situation,various anti-Semitic groups and leaders emerged one after another and the Roosevelt administration also had antiSemitic tendencies.Meanwhile,the famous American Jewish groups and the Hollywood Jewish groups became the mainstay of the fight against anti-Semitism and actively fought for their own rights and saved the European Jewish refugees.The conclusion of the sixth part discusses the essence of anti-Semitism,namely the nativism based on the tradition of Christian prejudice,the core of racism and the changing connotation of anti-Semitism.American anti-Semitism from 1933 to 1945,to some extent,hindered the entry of Jews into the mainstream society,affected the process of "Americanization" of Jews,intensified the conflict between Jews and non-Jews,but it also promoted the return of Jewish national identity,enhanced the cohesion of the Jewish nation,and united the American Jewish community.It promoted the political,economic and cultural status of American Jews and contributed to the development of Zionism and the establishment of the State of Israel.In general,immigrants have had a profound impact on American society and its history,and Jews are an important part of that.Through the study of the Jewish immigration issue,we understand the significance of immigration in the history of the United States,and find out its inherent contradictions--the need for immigration,the exclusion of immigrants,which leads to the reflection on the process of ethnic assimilation and the dual identity.
