"The Sound of the Empty Remains of the Monk Hanxiu" is a collection of poems by the Qing dynasty poetry monk Shi Ruqian(1631-1701),published during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty.Shi Ruqian,the 33 rd Zhengfa heir of the Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties,has presided over the famous blue seven times,opened the hall nine times,his people are full of Confucianism and Buddhism,and his work "Hanxiu Monk Knocking on the Void" has high literary and documentary value,but for various reasons,scholars in modern academic circles have not paid sufficient attention to Shi Ruqian,the study of himself and his works There are only a few words,and there is no systematic study.Therefore,the author tried to start with the documentation work of "The Sound of the Empty Remains of the Monk of Hanxiu",on this basis,to examine Shi Ruqian’s life and travels,and then explore the ideological content and artistic characteristics of his poetry,in an effort to show the poetic achievements of a generation of high monks and great virtues.The introduction part of this paper mainly introduces the source of topic selection,the current research status of Shi Ruqian and "Hanxiu Monk Knocking on the Void",and the methods in the process of sorting out the research.In addition to the introductory part,the full text is divided into four chapters:The first chapter introduces Shi Ruqian’s life and writings.The first is the study of Shi Ruqian’s life,mainly from several aspects such as his birth and death years,the cause of monasticism,the relationship between teachers and inheritance,the general situation of the host at the scene,and the heirs.Then a basic overview of Shi Ruqian’s writings is made,focusing on the basic situation of "The Sound of the Empty Remains of the Monk Hanxiu".The second chapter introduces Shi Ruqian’s travels and complements Shi Ruqian’s life experience.It can be seen from "The Sound of the Monk Knocking on the Void" that Shi Ruqian’s travel objects are mainly divided into three categories,namely the Zen forest monks,Shilin bureaucrats,and cloth priests.These people had an important influence on Shi Ruqian’s thinking on life.The third chapter examines the subject matter,artistic style,and excavation of the Shiruqian ideas contained in the essays in "The Humble Monk Knocks on the Void".Firstly,the concept of prose in "The Sound of Knocking on the Void by the Monk of Hanxiu" is defined,and the different styles of prose are summarized and classified,including four categories: epigraphic text,preface text,explanatory text,and book text.By analyzing the prose of "The Monk of Hanxiu Knocks on the Void",we can conclude that the prose style is elegant and simple.In addition,studying Hu Ruqian’s prose can to a certain extent get a glimpse of his thoughts,which can be summarized into several aspects,such as compatibility with Confucianism,educational thought,literary and artistic thought,and Zen thought.The fourth chapter examines the subject matter and artistic style of the prose in "The Sound of the Empty Remains of the Monk Hanxiu".Firstly,the concept of prose in "The Sound of Knocking on the Void by the Monk of Hanxiu" is defined,and the different styles of prose are summarized and classified,including four categories:epigraphic text,preface text,explanatory text,and book text.By analyzing the prose of "The Monk of Hanxiu Knocks on the Void",we can conclude that the prose style is ancient and strange.
