Study On Lu You’s Family Education Through Poems

Looking at Lu You’s poetry creation in his life,his educational poetry is rich in quantity,sincere in emotion and profound in connotation.It integrates the short and concise form of poetry and the profound content of family style and culture.His poems possess the dual value attributes of literature and education.It is leaving the brilliant impression on China’s ancient traditional family instruction culture.Lu You’s poetry on teaching children is the sustenance of the poet’s soul and the exhortation and hope for his children and grandchildren.The educational philosophy and ethical wisdom contained in it involves patriotism,family,official,reading,farming and other aspects.It is not only a summary of predecessors’ experience in cultivating personal mind,unifying the family and pursuing study,governing the world,but also a collection of educational ideas and methods.Taking Lu You’s Proofreading of Jiannan Poetry Manuscript as the main data source,this paper selects 184 the child-educating poems that meet the requirements,studies and analyzes them from the perspective of pedagogy,so as to present the overall situation and personal characteristics in the process of teaching children,and to observe and study the educational implication as well as teaching value behind them.Based on this,the paper is divided into four chapters:The First chapter of this paper mainly analyzes and discusses the social and personal factors of Lu You’s educational poetry in creation background.Among them,under the social factors,including the guidance of the imperial examination,the prevalence of poetry teaching,the prosperity of Neo Confucianism and the influence of regional culture,this paper expounds the external conditions of Lu You’s teaching son’s poetry creation;Then,starting from personal factors,it introduces Lu You’s family identity,rough official experience,emotional experience and teacher inheritance,so as to investigate the internal conditions for the creation of poets’ child-educating poetry.It can make readers establish a distinct cognition and understanding of the creative background of Lu You’s godson poetry.The second chapter focuses on "what to teach",which is the core and key point of the research.By combing and analyzing the theme content of Lu You’s teaching children’s poetry,it is divided into five categories: patriotism education,family ethics education,official education,study and scholarly research,production and life education.Patriotism runs through Lu You’s creation and is a vivid lifeline of Lu You’s teaching children’s poetry;Family ethics education is chiefly split into two parts and covers the following aspect: fathers’ kindness,filial piety and neighborhoods’ friendliness;The official education of imperial examination is primarily explained from three sides: the intention of being an official,how to secure an official positionl,the understanding and attitude of being an official in the imperial court;Reading and academic education admonishes children and grandchildren from the content and methods of reading;Finally,Lu You also taught future generations not to forget the foundation of farming,not to forget the style of farming,and even to focus on agriculture.The third chapter mainly discusses "how to teach",that is,to explore the family education methods contained in Lu You’s teaching children’s poems,mainly including five aspects: teaching by example,the integration of knowledge and practice,teaching according to the time,teaching according to the matter,teaching in fun,learning in fun,moving with emotion,persuading people with reason,being friends as well as teachers,mutual learning and mutual progress etc.With the help of poetry,he can teach profound truth to generations in simple terms,and this paper shows us an image of a kind old man.The fourth chapter mainly introduces the influence and enlightenment of Lu You’s educational poetry.Firstly,it summarizes the influence of Luyou’s teaching children’s poems on that time,which was helpful to educate the younger generation to become a useful person,maintain the prosperity of the Lu family and promote the trend of thought of taking poetry as teaching in the Song Dynasty.After that,it summarizes the enlightenment of Lu You’s teaching children’s poetry to contemporary society,which requires us to draw valuable experience and rich nutrition,cultivate and inherit good family style,pay attention to life and labor education and set up correct educational concept.The study of Lu You’s child-educating poetry and the analysis and discussion of Lu You’s parenting way are helpful to understand the poet’s family education and the social trend of teaching children with poetry in the Song Dynasty;And to enlighten modern people on how to teach and nurture children,and how to establish a harmonious parent-child relationship;It is of crucial realistic significance to carry forward the excellent Chinese culture and enhance our cultural self-confidence.
