A Comparative Study Of Family Moral Education Thoughts Between Liang Qichao And Yan Zhitui

When it comes to family moral education in China,both Liang Qichao and Yan Zhitui can not be neglected.Liang Qichao is not only a well-known enlightenment thinker but also an successful educator in modern history of China.He educated nine children,all made great achievements in their fields and made contributions to the motherland.Yan Zhitui is a famous scholar in ancient China,and his book Yan’s Family Instructions is known as "the ancestor of ancient and modern family precepts." Both of them are deeply influenced by Chinese traditional education.In a chaotic era,similar cultural education and turbulent environment determine that there will be similarities in family moral education between them.However,due to their respective times separated by more than one thousand years,under the influence of different political backgrounds and social realities,the differences and connections between the family moral education of modern Chinese and western culture and Chinese traditional moral education will be reflected.The theme of this paper is to compare the ideas of family moral education between Liang Qichao and Yan Zhitui.Based on the understanding of Yan’s and Liang’s family moral education thoughts,this paper analyzes their times background,ideological origin and ideological formation.The author discovers the differences between the two family moral education from educational aims,purposes and methods,and further explores the subjective and objective conditions of Liang Qichao’s different from Yan Zhitui’s.Secondly,the author thinks about the transformation of the two ideas in the traditional,modern and contemporary family moral education.According to the cultural connotation behind them,we can further comprehend the process of family ethical educating exploration from the ancient and the modern,the Chinese and foreign.Finally,combined with modern and contemporary society tend to absorb the western family education ideology and culture,Ignoring the situation of Chinese excellent traditional family education thoughts,summed up the contemporary enlightenment of Yan and Liang’s attention to family moral education,to escort the construction of family morality education in the new era and realizes the great aspiration of national rejuvenation.
