| As an important theory in post-classical narratology, the theory of unnatural narratives has recently gained the attention of scholars in China and has been widely used in critical practice because of its practicality. The paper examines the critical practice of unnatural narratives theory in China, explores how the representation of unnatural narratives art is reflected in the texts, takes a holistic view of the texts that interpret these unnatural narratives, and explores the characteristics of the critical practice of unnatural narratives theory in China and the direction of its future development.First of all,it provides an overview of the theory of unnatural narratives itself, compares the development of the theory of unnatural narratives, provides a holistic grasp of domestic scholars’ research in three aspects: theoretical translation, theoretical interpretation and theoretical innovation, and clarifies the universal and practical characteristics of the theory of unnatural narratives as a critical paradigm.Secondly, the critical practice of domestic scholars from the following three aspects is mainly discussed: first, the critical practices of unnatural narratives theory at the level of "discourse," that is,the study of the anomalous narrative behavior in the text, mainly focusing on the special form and dehumanization of the narrator, the multiple extremes of the narrative voice, and the unnaturalness of the author’s narrative. The three aspects are the peculiar form and dehumanization of the narrator, the multiple extremes of narrative voice, and the unnaturalness of the author’s narration.Second, the critical practice of unnatural narratives theory at the "story" level, that is,the study of the multiple parameters of events in the text, mainly focusing on the impossible time, impossible space, and events that violate the linear sequence in the story.Third, the critical practice of unnatural narratives theory at the " mind " level, that is,the study of the deformed narrative mind in the text, can be roughly divided into three categories from the perspective of the subject: human unnatural mind, social mind and non-human unnatural mind.Again, the overall characteristics of the critical practice of Chinese unnatural narratives theory are analyzed in terms of an overall view of its critical practice. In terms of the object of study,it is cross-textual and cross-media in character, unpacking unnatural narratives in different textual categories such as narrative texts, dramatic texts and lyrical texts, and in different media such as textual media, electronic media and physical media. In terms of the content of the study,it is cross-cultural in character, interpreting unnatural narratives in Western and marginal cultures and proposing new interpretations from an ethical perspective. Finally, revelations and reflections on the critical practice of Chinese unnatural narratives theory are elaborated in order to provide possible future directions for the critical practice of Chinese unnatural narratives theory. The scholars still have not been able to interpret the unnatural narratives across genres, media and cultures in the process of critical practice, and have not been able to explore the interpretation of unnatural narratives at the reader level much, which provide possible research paths for the future development of the critical practice of unnatural narratives theory in China. |
