Mr.Gan Yongkang’s Discourse On The Art Of Yangqin

Mr.Gan Yongkang is a famous yangqin player and educator in China,and an associate professor of yangqin in Wuhan Conservatory of Music.He is the builder of the yangqin discipline in Wuhan Conservatory of Music and has made active efforts and contributions to the flourishing development of the yangqin profession in Wuhan Conservatory of Music,which has contributed to the development of the yangqin career in China.For more than thirty years,he has stayed and taught at the school,training a number of outstanding yangqin talents who are now spread all over the country.This paper is divided into three parts: Chapter 1 summarizes the study and work experience of Mr.Gan Yongkang;Chapter 2 analyzes the main Yangqin works composed by Mr.Gan Yongkang;and Chapter 3 summarizes the research results of Mr.Gan Yongkang in the theoretical aspects of Yangqin performance.The author studied under Professor Xie Jun,a student of Mr.Gan Yongkang,and was fortunate enough to receive instruction from him.Through this dissertation,I hope to sort out Mr.Gan Yongkang’s artistic career and try to summarize his contributions to the Yangqin career.
