The study of Hebrew literature is primarily defined by language, including both ancient Hebrew literature(Biblical Hebrew literature)and modern Hebrew literature. The modernization of the Hebrew language ((?)) is an important step in the Zionist process within its transformation from an ancient religious language of Judaism into the secular language of the Jewish people living in the land of Israel, and its designation as one of the official languages by the Israel government after the declaration of independence.Modern Hebrew literature originated in Europe before the center of Hebrew literature shifted to the area of Palestine(today’s Israel,(?)).As a literary image of the Israeli Kibbutz that is universally presented in Hebrew literary texts with concrete sensibility, artistic generalization, and embodies the aesthetic ideals and values of Israeli-Jewish writers, its evolution and development embodied in modern Hebrew literary works will become the key clue throughout this research. The analysis of the literary images of Kibbutz created by Israeli-Jewish writers and its evolution should return to modern Hebrew literature itself, focusing on the psychological changes of the characters and textual details in the works. This research aims to analyze the literary image of Kibbutz in the works of famous Israeli-Jewish writers including Samech Izhar,Moshe Shamir and Amos Oz through specific texts and author-related identity writing, and the evolution of the mainstream perception in real Israeli society presented by Kibbutz. On this basis, the writers’ personalities and characteristics, the artistic style and the internal connections among them are deconstructed as well as the commonalities or differences in the literary images of Kibbutz in their fictions.Several representative fictions of the above authors will be considered as the key research objects, and the special emotions carried by it in modern Hebrew literature and the rise and fall of the Israeli Kibbutz in real society through detailed analysis of the author’s writing background, character portrayal and specific storyline in chronological order. In addition, the study of the literary image of Kibbutz will incorporate the methods of Area Studies related to Israel: the analysis of the literary image of Kibbutz in modern Hebrew literature and its diachronic evolution is inseparable from the development of the Israeli countryside represented by the Kibbutz in real society. The development of Kibbutz involves the influence of many social factors in the Middle East such as geopolitics, history, ethnicity, religion and political parties. Therefore, this research will combine the theories of the foreign language literature including genres, aesthetic style, writing skills, rhetorical devices, literary with the subjects of history, culture, political, economic and social system of the target country or region in order to reflect the author’s own political views and the changes in the ideological trend of Israeli society,as well as the deep-seated humanistic values in these works of modern Hebrew literature.
