| With the development of the economy and the change of media,the “civilian” class is gradually taking more and more power over the discourse,and the elite narratives and grand narratives in the cultural field are gradually shifting to civilian narratives.In documentary films,people are put first from the civilian perspective which tells the collision between the real world and ordinary human beings,conveys the most simple humanistic concerns,and finds the spiritual power to sustain life in the inner world of civilians.In the creation of a documentary from the civilian perspective,how to tell a good civilian story becomes a priority.Through the analysis of the narrative features and narrative dilemmas of documentaries from a civilian perspective,combined with the creative practice of the work He’s Fine,combined with certain narratological theories,this paper analyzes the current difficulties and existing problems faced by civilian perspective documentaries,and attempts to put forward corresponding solutions.The first chapter attempts to define the civilian perspective documentary,and to sort out its development in order to clarify the scope of this study as well as establishing a macroscopic vision.China’s documentaries from the civilian perspective have experienced a boom to a decline from the 1990 s.In recent years,with the rise of online media and advances in filming technology,the civilian perspective documentary has seen a resurgence,but the shackles of the past are also in its wake.The second chapter analyses the narrative characteristics of documentaries from the civilian perspective and the difficulties they face in terms of narrative subject matter,narrative perspective and production process,in the light of numerous works.In the third chapter,based on the creation of the graduation project He’s Fine,four practical strategies to improve the narrative has been summarized: using subjective initiative to find,clarifying the theme that balances individuality and topicality,using a combination of narrative perspectives to enhance the hierarchy of the narrative,relying on details to build up a character arc from large to small,and combining multiple permutations to find the best narrative structure.It is hoped that it can provide a certain reference value for the narrative strategies and the study of narrative theory in civilian perspective documentaries. |
