In practice,an autonomous learning activity,pre-class activities have received much attention and general approval,especially for English pre-class activities.Therefore,how to intervene in students’ English pre-class activities effectively is a critical topic faced by domestic senior high school English teachers.The autonomous learning theory means that educators teach the learners the learning methods and give them enough time and space to learn independently by adopting these measures.This study intends to take the Senior One students of No.1 Senior High School in Tongling City,Anhui Province,as an example.Based on the autonomous learning theory,the literature review,interview,and questionnaire survey are adopted to research the intervention model of English pre-class activities to construct an effective intervention model of English pre-class activities.The research mainly focuses on three questions:(1)What is the current situation of implementing English pre-class activities in senior high school? What is the cause of the existing problem?(2)What negative factors affect students’ English pre-class activities in senior high school?(3)How can teachers and students construct an effective intervention model of English pre-class activities in senior high school based on the autonomous learning theory?Research objects include 187 Senior One students of No.1 Senior High School in Tongling City,Anhui Province,and some English teachers.Later,the questionnaire and interviews are analyzed,and the conclusions are drawn as follows: Firstly,the students show little initiative in participating in English pre-class activities,and English teachers ignore its importance;Secondly,cultivating senior high school students’ autonomy learning ability plays a positive role in the implementation of pre-class activities.It can not only improve the students’ efficiency of English learning but also enhance their initiative in participating in English pre-class activities;Lastly,according to the pre-interview and post-interview,the construction of the intervention model of English pre-class activities in the study plays a specific role in improving the students’ efficiency of English learning and English teachers’ guidance of the implementation of English pre-class activities.
