| With the development of globalization and the increasingly frequent exchanges between Chinese and Western cultures,Chinese online literature is flourishing. As a reflection of real life, online literature carries a culture close to the lives of the general public and is loved and sought after by many domestic and overseas readers, playing a pivotal role in cross-cultural exchanges. The translation of excellent online literature can help promote the “going global” of Chinese literature and spread national culture, which is an effective way of cultural exports. However, because of factors such as translation, copyright and profitability, the door of “going global” for online literature is not open.In this paper, the source text of the translation practice report is drawn from Zhuo Muxian’s work Police Stories of Chaoyang, which mainly tells the real life of grassroots police officers.Based on Peter Newmark’s text typology theory,it belongs to vocative text. Therefore, under the guidance of communicative translation theory, the author focuses on the target readers and tries to deliver readily understandable, fluent and natural translation. The author combines with the difficulties in the translation of Police Stories of Chaoyang and does case analysis on the translation of words and sentences respectively. The translation skills used include amplification, omission and extension. The author hopes that this translation practice can provide reference for the translation and promotion of online literature and related practices. |
