Research On Narrative Design For Museum Information Visualization

With the continuous development of society,museums gradually began to open for free,the composition of visitors gradually diversified,people’s demand for information is increasing,media communication methods are also constantly updated,traditional media is declining,new media gradually become the mainstream.The update of information transmission mode has subverted people’s preference for plain text reading,and people’s patience for boring data and text reading has been worn away.The demand for information presentation in museums has gradually diversified,and visitors tend to be more inclined to clear,vivid and easy to interpret image information when visiting.Information visualization design can transform the multificate data text into image language,greatly improving the speed and efficiency of information transmission.However,there are complicated problems of information display in most Chinese museum exhibitions,the lack of decoding the exhibition information step by step,and the visitors’ participation and immersion are not strong,leading to the homogenization and shallow phenomenon of the expression of museum cultural relics information,"Let cultural relics live" has become the mission of the new era cultural workers.Museum information visual narrative design is an important way to "make cultural relics alive".Narratology originates from the field of literature.Integrating narrative theory into information visual design will greatly improve the efficiency of information transmission.However,there are few researches that apply narrative theory to visual design.This paper aims to study the innovative application of narrative theory in visual design of information visualization,and interpret the characteristics and rules of cultural relics in museum collections through narrative design of information visualization.As a new method and path of cultural heritage research,this paper will further promote the deepening of academic research on cultural heritage and the improvement of methodology.At the same time,it provides a new direction for the development of museum information transmission path,improves the transmission efficiency of museum cultural information and the cultural connotation behind it,improves the intuitiveness,vividness and interaction of cultural information,plays an important role in the transmission of museum cultural knowledge,and opens a new perspective of museum information display.
