Composition Characteristics And Interpretation Of Frank’s Preludes,Fugues And Variations Op.18

Cesar Franck(Cesar Franck)is a famous composer,pianist and organist in the second half of the 19 th century.He is known as the father of modern French music and has a landmark influence on the revival of French music."Prelude,Fugue and Variations" is a classic of Frank’s piano works,which combines classical style,romantic sentiment and religious emotion.Based on the Frank keyboard music characteristics,this paper tries to understand the difference in timbre between organ and piano by analyzing the music.According to their own music practice,and the understanding of music,strive to this famous song for a full range of interpretation.The first chapter introduces Frank’s life and representative works.The second chapter is about the characteristics and styles of "Prelude,Fugue and Variation".Finally,the interpretation of the song is discussed from the processing of the voice part and the control of timbre.
