The Translation、Evolution And Acceptance Of The Concept Of “Historical Materialism” In China

As an important part of Marxist philosophy,Historical Materialism has always been the object of study by scholars at home and abroad.However,from the perspective of Conceptual History,the research on the development process of the concept of “Historical Materialism” in China has produced few results.From the perspective of Conceptual History,this paper combs and analyzes the translation、evolution and acceptance of the concept of “Historical Materialism” in China.And then,explores the social,historical and cultural changes behind the concept,as well as the differences in concept understanding.In this way,the evolution process of the concept of “Historical Materialism” will be clarified,and the correct understanding and application of the contemporary concept of “Historical Materialism” will be considered.Through the exchange and reconstruction of ideology and culture,the early intellectuals translated and introduced the concept of “Historical Materialism” in China from Japan,Europe and Soviet Russia.Due to the differences in their academic backgrounds,the translation of the concept of “Historical Materialism” has resulted in the consistency and difference of the concept translation tendency.The early communists laid more emphasis on the proletarian revolution theory which intended to realize the salvation and development of Chinese society through class revolution.The translation of “Historical Materialism” is more comprehensive.Early bourgeois intellectuals and other intellectuals paid more attention to economic determinism in their translation,which greatly promoted the spread of “Historical Materialism”.However,they all opposed the revolutionary factors contained in it,and choose to ignore the translation,which is relatively one-sided.Moreover,in exploring the acceptance of the concept of “Historical Materialism”,the article takes the struggle between the early Marxists and the anti-Marxist ideological trend as the main line,and explores the acceptance and shaping of the concept of “Historical Materialism”through the analysis and reflection of “the Economic Interpretation of History ”,“Class Struggle” and “the Masses”.The translation and dissemination of the concept of “Historical Materialism”promoted the theory of Historical Materialism from one-sided to comprehensive understanding,and resisted the attack of historical idealism.At the same time,it promoted the transformation of the perspective of social problems analysis and contributed to the modern transformation of traditional historical theory.It also has great significance for the development of Chinese revolutionary practice and history,as well as the sinicization of Marxism.
