| With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic,daily life on campuses has been significantly influenced.The campus is flooded with a great deal of negative emotion,but little attention has been paid to it.Considering the current situation,the author attempts to present the emotion during the epidemic in an objective way to the public,aiming to arouse emotional resonance and seek emotional care among the college population.At present,few research has been conducted by domestic scholars on emotional visualization design,and the research materials are fragmented and scattered.Therefore,the author’s research is mainly based on original works abroad,supplemented by information visualization design and emotion extraction technology at home.In terms of the focus of this paper,it mainly lies in the establishment of an emotional model in colleges and universities under the background of the COVID-19 pandemic,as well as the specific strategies for visual design through the model.In the current study,the primary research methods include literature study,practice research,case study and so on.With regard to the research contents,there are four aspects involved:(1)An overview of the COVID-19 pandemic and the relevant theoretical research on visual design.(2)Theoretical research on the design principles of emotional visualization under the background of the epidemic,that is take "people" as the basic position,"things" as the basic context,and "emotion" as the basic orientation.(3)Establishment of a visual expression method for the epidemic emotion of the college population.Through the analysis of the detailed path of Harold Schlosberg’s two-dimensional emotion model,the specific methods of Harold Schlosberg’s model have been summarized from the design experiment and design process to model design.Referring to Russell’s two-dimensional emotion model based on Harold Schlosberg’s model,the author has accumulated the experience to construct an emotion model through the comparison of the experimental method,design method and model implementation between the two.In addition,by analyzing the design of Plutchik’s concept of the three-dimensional circumplex model,the author has further established the subject model in terms of "emotional ambiguity","emotional degree",and "emotional color",and finally formed a theoretical derivation method for making the subject model.Furthermore,combined with the theoretical derivation model,the subject model has been proposed after the extraction of emotional data,refinement of emotional keywords,and combination of the theoretical derivation model.Finally,starting with the emotional text,color,expression,etc.,perceptual thinking based on the subject model has been carried out.That is,by extracting emotional visualization symbols to refine the emotional text and add emotional narrative;to extract emotional color and improve the affinity of the picture;to refine emotional expressions and organize information expressiveness.The above three aspects provide a specific interpretation of the emotional visualization design strategy.(4)The emotional visualization design practice "epidemic is also emotional" has been conducted under the guidance of theory while the summary of methods and strategies has been accomplished in design.By extending the emotional model to the visual design,this thesis enables the transformation of abstract emotion into a visual design through concrete manifestation.On the one hand,the study not only enriches the visual design language but also broadens the research platform of it.On the other hand,this study ventures to provide the public with encouragement to overcome the epidemic together through the emotional visualization design among college population under the background of the COVID-19 pandemic. |
