Sergei Vasiliyevich Rachmaninov was one of the great music masters in the late19 th century. He has devoted his passion and wisdom to the music industry throughout his life. The romantic song " Island" originates from the poem of the same name by the British poet Shelley. The melody of the singing part is stable and serene from beginning to end, intermittent and rarely undulating. The romantic song "Lilac " is full of love for the motherland, people and good expectations for life, sometimes with light sadness. The piano texture of these two works is complex in structure, thick in sound and shaped like flowing water. It was an important milestone in the history of Russian music at the end of the 19 th century and the beginning of the 20 th century. These two works are short, concise, lively and melodic, which are popular with classical music lovers.
