The Construction Of The China,Japan And The ROK FTA From The Perspective Of New Regionalism

The year 2020 began with the outbreak of COVID-19.This pandemic will further accelerate the regional nature of North America,Europe and Asia.The global industrial chain and supply chain will be further regionalized and localized,and the competition between regions will be more intense.As the economic representatives of East Asia,China,Japan and the ROK are the most capable countries to promote the integration of East Asia and even the Asia-Pacific region.If the China-Japan-ROK FTA is success-fully established,it will make an important contribution to the economic development and people’s well-being of the three countries as well as the stability and prosperity of the entire East Asia region.However,the FTA construction process of China,Japan and South Korea obviously lags behind other regional FTA arrangements.Restricted by a series of problems,such as history,territorial and territorial disputes,and interference by the US power,the FTA construction process of the three countries has faced many difficulties over the years.Based on the background,the author puts forward the construction of FTA between China,Japan and South Korea from the perspective of new regionalism.This paper,by using the multi-level analysis method of new regionalism,breaks through the limitation that the previous researches on this issue mostly focus on nation-states,which is a single level and a single actor,and pays more attention to regional and global levels.To be specific,first expounds the relevant perspectives suitable for analyzing the FTA construction in the theory of new regionalism such as the non-traditional benefit theory from the perspective of new regionalism and the representative viewpoints under the theory of soft regionalism open regionalism and constructive regionalism.Then,by comprehensively applying the propositions,representative views and assumptions of the new regionalism,the paper tries to re-examine the research object from the regional level,and tries to find out the reasons why the obstacles to the FTA construction are always difficult to be properly solved.Secondly,at the global level,combining with RECP,it brings new breakthroughs to the construction of FTA in China,Japan and South Korea,explore new opportunities for the construction of China-Japan-ROK FTA.Finally,on the basis of the above analysis,starting from the regional strategies of China,Japan and South Korea and the non-traditional benefits of new regionalism,the paper puts forward the concrete path to construct the FTA in the future.Multi-level analysis of this paper found that the new regionalism,that is,from three levels,regions,countries around the world,to better the China-japan-rok FTA in the process of the building of internal factors,regional factors,linked to the impact of global events,and the relevant views and opinions of new regionalism theory and hypothesis,the study of China,Japan and South Korea FTA building has important significance.This paper also hopes to expand the analytical horizon of this issue and stimulate people’s further attention and thinking on the construction of the FTA between China,Japan and South Korea.
