| The Mosuo people living in the sichuan-Yunnan border have always been concerned by anthropology and ethnology.Now,the theory of "House society" is an important starting point to study the Mosuo social culture.Taking Yongning Walabei Village as an example,this paper discusses Mosuo society and culture from the new perspective of "house",and explains the practice of kinship,cultural inner concept and social life of Mosuo house society.The symbolic system of Mosuo’s house and its symbolic meaning can be systematically analyzed from the two levels of "Yi Du" as a whole and "Yi mi" as the core of the house."Yidu" is the basic unit of Mosuo society and the material place of daily life of Mosuo people,among which "Yimi" as the core is the most typical."Yidu" is the carrier of different time and space of Mosuo people,such as the connection between life and death,male and female,past and present,sacred and profane,and contain the whole symbolic system of Mosuo people’s cosmology,world outlook and human outlook.According to the family blood relationship,Mosuo families can be divided into matrilineal family,maternal paternal coexist,patriarchal family.According to their internal relation,inheritance and differentiation characteristics of house,inheritance of the house(whether inhabited)and heritage of the name of house(if anyone use this name)are the most important rules of the inheritance of house,they take precedence over the continuation of human’s biological lineage.Mosuo social relations take the house as the basic unit and form organizations and relations such as "Si Ri","Kua Zhi" and "Yi Di" in different ways.For Mosuo families,houses with the same consanguineous relationship together constitute the consanguineous group "Si Ri".Houses of non-same consanguineous group can form a "kua Zhi" organizational relationship according to marriage or adoptive relationship,or form a cooperative "Yi Di" production organizational relationship.The author thinks that mosuo society has the basic characteristics of " house society",and it is reasonable to study mosuo society as a complete house society.In modern society,mosuo house society has undergone changes in material level and concept level,facing many difficulties and challenges,mosuo people transform house into an adaptive strategy,self-adjustment in crisis,fully embodies the adaptability and flexibility of monastic house cultural thought.The symbolic system,social relations and the expression in the contemporary vicissitude of Mosuo’s house all reflect the ideological foundation of "house orientation" of Mosuo people and their pursuit of "harmonious" social goal. |
