| In Capital,Marx sets out the logic of production in capitalism.Fetishism has had a profound impact on the premises, means and ends of production as well as the results of capitalism. The dissolution of fetishism facilitates the establishment of a correct concept of production.Firstly, fetishism reverses the premises of capitalist production.Capitalist production is based on the separation of the means of production from the workers of production.Production requires material and subjective premises, with the material being the object of production and the productive worker being the subject of production. But the influence of fetishism has led to the subjectivisation of the object of production, which is primary in production, and the objectivisation of the subject of production, which is secondary in production;the material premise controls production and is at the centre of production, while the workers of production become subordinate to it in an inverted way.Secondly, fetishism manipulates the means of production of capitalism. The capitalists’ desire to appropriate more surplus value,to achieve the ultimate pursuit of things and the multiplication of value, leads to the deepening of the exploitation of workers by means of longer working hours, the use of women and children and the use of machine production. The use of women and children in production has led to the reduction of women and children to supplementary labour, breaking the moral line;the use of machines has led to the dissolution of the productive worker’s sense of subjectivity and his becoming part of the machine.Again, fetishism distorts the purpose of capitalist production. The purpose of production is to produce material wealth of use value to meet the needs of people’s productive lives and to achieve common prosperity through production. But the purpose of capitalist production has been distorted into the pursuit of value rather than use value,of value multiplication rather than value enlargement, and the production of vast amounts of material wealth. The exploitative nature of capitalism leads to a low capacity to pay for productive workers, resulting in the accumulation and destruction of material wealth, disregard for the needs of productive workers, and ultimately a polarisation between rich and poor. Finally, fetishism directly affects the outcome of capitalist production through its effect on the logic of capitalist production, leading to the emergence of overproduction.Overproduction results from the increased profit-seeking nature of capitalists and the intensification of the exploitatibon of productive workers, leading to the phenomenon of material wealth exceeding actual demand as a result of the infinite expansion of production and the lack of consumption capacity.Capitalist economic crises erupt when the contradiction between productivity and consumption power reaches a critical mass.In essence,it is overproduction, and it can be said that the logic of capitalist production has been degraded by the influence of fetishism. |
