Research On Engels’ Demonstration Of The Future Society And Its Contemporary Value

As the co-founder,loyal interpreter and steadfast defender of Marxism,Engels has made outstanding contributions to the formation and development of Marxism.Engels has devoted his entire life to demonstrate the inevitability of the future society and actively explored ways to realize it.He focused on promoting struggles of the labor movement in a planned and coordinated way from theoretical,political,practical and economic aspects.Therefore,a systematic research on Engels’ argumentations about the future society in different periods has important theoretical values and practical significance for accurately grasping Engels’ socialist thoughts,correctly distinguishing the essential difference between scientific socialism and other socialism and comprehensively promoting the steady and long-term development of socialism with Chinese characteristics.This paper takes Engels’ representative works formed in his solving different problems in different periods under real social situations as the historical clues and systematically researches Engels’ demonstration of the inevitability and realization of the future society.Main contents of this paper can be roughly divided into four parts: Part 1,including The Outline of the Critique of Political Economy,The Condition of the British Working Class and The German Ideology and other works,demonstrates the necessity and rationality of the future society from the perspectives of objective regularity of political economics,class analysis and social development in Engels’ creation of scientific socialism theory.Part 2explains Engels’ further demonstration of future society and its realization path in his criticizing wrong thoughts such as Proudhonism,Bakunin anarchism and Dühringism by taking On Housing Questions,On Authority and On Anti-Dühring as examples.Part 3,based on The Introduction to The Class Struggles in France,1848 to 1850 by Karl Marx and related letters,analyzes Engels’ reflections on the doomed fate of capitalism,development of future society and its realization means in his defending and developing Marxism in his later years according to new changes of capitalist social reality after Marx’s death.Part 4 is the conclusion of the paper.On the basis of the first three parts,which systematically explains Engels’ argument on the future society,part 4 summarizes Engels’ argumentation of internal logics for the dialectical unification of science and value in the future society and Engels’ theory and practical contributions for creating,enriching and developing scientific socialism and solving the problem of proletarian revolution.Besides,part 4 also reflects on its theoretical value and practical significance to contemporary socialism with Chinese characteristics.Engels’ argument for the future society is a deepening process with the development of his ideas.In terms of its main contents and internal logics it abides by in the argument,his theory has important enlightening significance for us to accurately grasp the development trend of the future society,refute the wrong understanding of socialism,especially socialism with Chinese characteristics,and smoothly promote the great practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
