Physical activity is an important way for college students to enhance their physical quality and promote the development of physical and mental health.Guided by the national education policy of "forging character and civic virtue" and taking the education path of cultivating socialist builders and successors with all round ability in morals,intelligence,physical fitness,work and aesthetics as the direction,universities actively carry out physical activities together with other educational activities,while college students’ injury accidents in physical activities occur frequently due to their unpredictable characteristics,which not only affects the development of college students’ physical and mental health,but also have a negative impact on the families,universities and even society,thus seriously hindering the development of college PE.Aiming to learn about the characteristics of college students’ injury accidents in physical activities in depth and the legal issues between universities and college students,reduce the probability of accidents,and maintain the physical and mental health of college students,the methods of literature review,mathematical statistics,case analysis,and logical analysis were used to conduct in-depth analysis of 42 highly representative civil judgment documents about college students’ injury accidents in physical activities,and the following conclusions were drawn:1.Male college students have higher injury accidents than female college students in the process of college students participating in physical activities;basketball,football,and gymnastics are the top three sports items for college students to have injury accidents;the head and neck are the most vulnerable body parts of college students’ injury accidents in physical activities;college students are prone to get injured in extracurricular sports competitions,with the highest probability of injury accidents in physical activities occurring in school extracurricular sports competitions;for college students’ injury accidents in physical activities,the number of cases identified by judicial authorities as Grade 10 disability is the highest,followed by cases that do not constitute any grading of disability;Poor sports skills of college students are the most important reason for college students’ sports injury accidents.2.The compensation of colleges and universities for college students’ injury accidents in physical activities includes full compensation,partial compensation,and no compensation at all.In 42 cases of college students’ injury accidents in physical activities,there are educational legal relationships,guardianship relationships,and administrative legal relationships between universities and students,there is an equal subject relationship between college students and college students and between college students and third-party institutions.College students’ injury accidents are generally caused by human issues,material issues,and management issues,among which human issues come from college students and PE teachers,the material issues come from the lack of school sports ground and the old sports ground,and the management issues come from the imperfect management system of universities and sports centers.The following five countermeasures were put forward in response to the existing problems:firstly,to improve the professional quality of college PE teachers and strengthen their sense of responsibility;secondly,to improve the physical and psychological quality of college students and enhance their sense of discipline;thirdly,to establish and improve the college safety system for physical activities;fourthly,to improve the emergency handling procedures of sports activity centers;fifthly,to increase the investment in college physical activities and strengthen the construction of relevant sports facilities.
