Marx’s Needs Theory And Its Contemporary Enlightenment

The free and all-round development of human beings is the lifelong pursuit of Marx and his fellow practitioners,which is based on satisfying human reasonable needs and attaching importance to human practical activities.Satisfying people’s reasonable needs is an important part of Marx’s theory of needs.This paper takes Marx’s need theory as the main research object.First,it discusses the formation process of Marx’s need theory against the background of Marx’s concern about material interests and Engels’ concern about the needs of people in social reality.In the second place,from philosophy to the essence of man as the starting point to analyze its main content,including the following four aspects: the need of study is an important logical starting point of Marx’s historical materialism,remaining need put forward is surplus value theory basis,the characteristics of the communist society is to each according to his need,the freedom of man’s understanding is the need to define the key points of comprehensive development.Thirdly,it discusses the inheritance and development of Marxist needs theory by Chinese and Western Marxist scholars in different times,analyzes the people’s needs mentioned in previous Party conferences,and points out the importance of the need for a better life at present.Fourth,with economic and social development,individuals need to show polarization in the face of limited social resources.Some are biased towards radical needs and some are biased towards compromise needs,both of which have an impact on personal life and social development,and both are dilemmas existing in the needs of a better life at present.In view of the current problems,the contemporary enlightenment of Marx’s need theory is mainly divided into four aspects: attaching importance to the free and comprehensive development of human beings,adhering to the fair labor values to deal with the interest relationship,attaching importance to the spiritual needs of human beings and adhering to the innovation drive to meet the needs of people’s better life.Therefore,it is of great significance to study Marx’s need theory and examine the deficiencies of China’s current needs for a better life by combining Marx’s need theory with China’s reality.
