Research On The Protection Of Labor Rights And Interests Of Online Contract Workers Under The Platform Economy

In recent years,the platform economy has been deeply integrated into people’s life and work,and online contract work as a new type of employment method has been growing in the wave of rapid development of the platform economy.However,the new problems such as excessive labor and difficulties in safeguarding rights are inevitably brought about by the employment opportunities obtained by online workers through the platform.These problems not only bring negative impact to the harmony and stability of the society,but also are not conducive to the harmonious development of the platform economy.Therefore,while seeking the prosperous development of platform economy,it is more important to pay attention to the labor rights and interests protection of the net-contracted workers.This paper takes the definition of relevant concepts,the basic rights and interests of online workers and the characteristics of employment of online workers in the platform economy as the starting point of the study.The development of platform economy has improved the labor rights and interests of workers.The development of platform economy has played a positive role in improving the labor employment rights and labor compensation rights of workers,and the governmental departments in China are also introducing and improving relevant policies to make up for the shortcomings of labor rights and interests protection in platform economy.However,the protection of labor rights and interests of online workers is still in a difficult situation.The problems of excessive labor,lack of occupational safety,occupational safety and health protection and vocational skills training,and difficulties in the protection of rights have become the problems that need to be solved.The main reasons for the problems are the difficulties in identifying the labor relations of online workers,the irregular employment of platform enterprises,the imperfect government supervision and social security system,and the lack of awareness and ways to protect the rights of online workers.Through theoretical and practical concerns,I explore the causes of the above problems and propose realistic countermeasures to solve the problem of safeguarding labor rights and interests of online workers.The specific measures to improve the protection of labor rights and interests of online workers in the platform economy are in four aspects: strengthening the legal protection of labor rights and interests in the platform economy,strengthening the main responsibility of platform enterprises,improving the government supervision and management and social security system,and strengthening the ability to defend the rights of online workers.With the development of platform economy,the scale of online workers employed on the platform in China has become very large,and the protection of their labor rights and interests has become an important issue to be solved.Therefore,the government,platform enterprises,labor unions and online workers themselves should work together.
