| China has always attached great importance to reservoir construction.From the Three Gorges Dam to the South-to-North Water Diversion Project,from Xiaolangdi of the Yellow River to Datengxia of Xijiang River,water conservancy projects have sprung up one after another,and reservoir immigrants have emerged as the times require.They have made great sacrifices for the national economic construction.How to properly resettle reservoir immigrants and help them live and work in peace and contentment has become an urgent problem for the government.The social integration of reservoir immigrants has become an important criterion to measure the success of resettlement of a water conservancy project,which requires the government to optimize the allocation of various resources and formulate various measures to help immigrants adapt to their new homes as soon as possible,restore and enhance their production capacity and achieve social integration.Pubugou Hydropower Station resettled in different cities in Sichuan.The relocation of immigrants in different places has a large degree of dispersion,and the social integration situation is more complex,resulting in a large number of social integration problems.Moreover,some of the smaller resettlement areas have even become the relatively marginal areas in economic and social development with insufficient social attention to them and insufficient follow-up protection for immigrants.The phenomenon of lagging public services is still exists.There are still many contradictions in the life of the reservoir immigrants and their living standard is not good,which is conducive to the development of the local residents and the social integration of the immigrants themselves.In the thesis,reservoir immigrants of Pubugou Hydropower Station in Shifang County A Town,as small-scale resettlement areas,is the object of study.After studying the policies and documents of reservoir resettlement in China,a lot of literature related to read,the thesis actually analyzed the status quo of social integration of reservoir immigrants of Pubugou Hydropower Station.Combining the quantitative and the qualitative analysis,the study is carried out by conducting questionnaires survey and unstructured interviews.The social integration problems analyzed from the dimension of economic integration,cultural adaptation,social adaptation,structural integration and identification in resettlement area were found,through the questions,the causes of the problems were analyzed from four aspects: local government’s public service consciousness,public service resource allocation,public service supply and the government’s prediction to meet the immigration public service demand.In the end of this thesis,countermeasures and advice of high pertinence are proposed: Optimize industries in resettlement areas;Improve the quality of immigrants;Establish immigration autonomous organization;Rebuild immigrant social networks;Adjust the immigrant mentality;Improve the autonomy mechanism of resettlement areas;Remove immigration label;Strengthen the interaction between the government and citizens and reflect humanistic care.It provides reference for solving the problem of social integration of immigrants and further enriches the research on social integration of hydropower immigrants in China. |
