Study On The Publicity Work Of Urban Workers In Shanxi Province (1949-1956)

Publicity is an important part of the work of the CPC,which is of great significance and significant role in the work of the Party.In the early days of the founding of the People’s Republic of China,in order to strengthen the close connection between the Party and the masses,promote and explain the Party’s various guidelines and policies to the general public,and encourage the workers to actively participate in the recovery of the national economy and production construction,the Publicity Department of the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee led party organizations in various regions,cities,and counties to promote and mobilize the workers throughout the province through the Party’s publicity network system,propagandist system,and reporter system,gradually unifying the workers’ ideology,It has raised the awareness of workers and laid a solid foundation for the development of the new regime and the construction of New China.From 1949 to 1956,New China was in the transition from a New Democracy society to a socialist society,and the Party and the country were facing serious domestic and international situations.As the leading class of New China,the working class has a more thorough revolutionary and progressiveness nature.The working class is an important new force for the economic recovery and development of New China.The Party Central Committee has already realized this,so the publicity work of the working class is particularly important.However,the long-term turbulence of the social environment has made most of the working class less educated and backward in ideology.There are ideas that are not conducive to the development of socialism in the workforce.Some people do not understand the CPC,doubt the futu re of socialism,and even resist the socialist movement.Therefore,party organizations at all levels in Shanxi Province,based on the actual situation,have promoted and mobilized workers from political,economic,cultural,military and other aspects by organizing reading books and newspapers,organizing literary and artistic activities,carrying out grievance campaigns,and establishing typical figures,thereby improving the cultural level and moral quality of workers.The publicity and education work aimed at the working class can enhance the class consciousness of the workers,enable the working class to fully understand the various policies,guidelines,and routes of the Party,unite the working class to strive for the recovery and development of the national economy,and thus successfully complete the central task of the Party.Through publicity and mobilization of workers,it has unified the workers’ thoughts,improved the workers’ class consciousness,increased the working class’ s understanding of the new regime,strengthened the working class’ s trust in the CPC,and improved the politi cal prestige of the party and the government.The historical experience of the Party’s publicity work for urban workers in Shanxi during the early days of the founding of the People’s Republic of China is also of great significance for the comprehensive construction of a socialist modernized power and the realization of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
