The copyright protection system is an important symbol of the development and progress of human society and civilization.With the vigorous development of the digital economy and the introduction of the concept of a digital China,a large number of digital works have emerged.These works have short creation cycles and high update frequencies,undoubtedly posing significant challenges to the protection of digital copyrights in China.However,in recent years,the application of blockchain technology has provided new solutions for the protection of digital copyrights,potentially compensating for the shortcomings of the current copyright protection system in the digital realm.This article takes the characteristics and advantages of blockchain technology as a starting point to discuss its application in the three stages of digital copyright protection: rights confirmation,transactions,and enforcement.In terms of rights confirmation for digital copyrights,the current copyright registration process in China is time-consuming and costly,resulting in a severe imbalance between the speed of digital content creation and the efficiency of copyright registration.However,blockchain technology can assign a unique digital identifier to each digital work,facilitating rapid on-chain registration and ensuring tamper-proof copyright information.This significantly improves the efficiency of digital copyright registration.In the realm of digital copyright transactions,China currently relies on traditional processes and lacks a unified digital copyright trading platform.The repetitive construction of copyright trading platforms and the lack of transparency in copyright information severely impede the exploration of copyright value.By constructing a publicly transparent unified copyright trading platform based on blockchain technology and leveraging the advantages of smart contracts in automated transaction execution,it is possible to alleviate the decentralization of copyright data,promote fair pricing,and enhance the efficiency of copyright information circulation.This is of great significance for the circulation and development of digital copyrights.In terms of digital copyright enforcement,the advancement of technology has led to complex and ever-evolving forms of online infringement,making enforcement a challenging task.However,blockchain technology,through the use of timestamps and hashing algorithms,can provide each digital work with a unique and tamper-proof digital identity.Additionally,any transfer activity of the work on the blockchain leaves an immutable trace,facilitating historical tracing and evidence collection during enforcement actions.In addition,this article delves into the conflicts that may arise when applying blockchain technology to the rights confirmation,transactions,and enforcement of digital copyrights within the existing copyright protection system.These conflicts include difficulties in identifying rights holders for rights confirmation,challenges in determining responsible parties in transactions,and the immaturity of supporting rules for enforcement.Based on an analysis and summary of international application cases and legislative practices in this field,this article proposes legal strategies and recommendations for reference from three perspectives: strengthening legal safeguards in the rights confirmation stage,formulating detailed regulations for copyright transactions based on blockchain technology,and expediting relevant legislation for copyright enforcement based on blockchain technology.The aim is to contribute to the legal theoretical research on the application of blockchain technology in the field of digital copyright protection in China.
