The sustained willingness of the public to participate in community policing is an important issue in promoting the modernization of police governance.Faced with the current situation that the public’s willingness to participate in community policing is insufficient, how to enhance the public’s sustained willingness to participate and strengthen the sustainability of public participation in community policing is a difficult problem facing community policing. Therefore, this study explores the whole process of public participation in community policing volunteer work, sorts out the influencing factors of public willingness to sustain participation in community policing, and aims to provide an effective theoretical basis for the recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers.Based on the perspectives of expectation confirmation theory, perceived value theory, and planned behavior theory, this study used the literature research method to explore the factors influencing the public’s willingness to participate in community policing work.Based on the perspective of planned behavior theory, the study investigates the influence of subjective norms and perceived behavioral control on the public’s willingness to continuously participate in community policing, and proposes relevant hypotheses and constructs theoretical models that influence the public’s willingness to continuously participate in community policing. At the same time, this study uses questionnaire survey method and empirical analysis method to distribute questionnaires and collect relevant data from the public who are continuously involved in community policing through preresearch and formal research, and uses reliability validity test, common method deviation test, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling test for data analysis and hypothesis verification. The empirical results show that subjective norms have a significant positive effect on the public’s willingness to continuously participate;perceived behavioral control has a significant positive effect on the public’s willingness to continuously participate;satisfaction positively affects the willingness to continuously participate;expectation confirmation positively affects satisfaction;expectation confirmation positively affects perceived value;perceived value positively affects satisfaction;and perceived value does not have a significant effect on the willingness to continuously participate.Based on the findings, this study concludes that the public’s willingness to continuously participate in community policing should be promoted from three aspects: strengthening multiple participation and building a community policing community;establishing a volunteer service guarantee system and carrying out relevant skills training;enriching the content and form of volunteer services and optimizing the volunteer service platform,so as to realize the sustainable development of community policing volunteer services.
