Foster a strong sense of community for the Chinese national is a major original assertion put forward by the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.It is an innovative development of the theory of the Party’s ethnic work guidelines and policies in the new era.Foster a strong sense of community for the Chinese national among students of all ethnic groups is of great significance.It concerns adhering to the direction of socialist education,implementing the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education,and cultivating socialist builders and successors who are wellrounded in moral,intellectual,physical,aesthetic and labor development.Based on the core content of community consciousness,this paper conducts a case study on the education practice path of fostering a strong sense of community for the Chinese national based on “five identifications”.Taking B Primary School in Weishan Yi and Hui Autonomous County,Yunnan Province as an example,this paper explores the school’s four practice paths for fostering the education of primary school students’ sense of community for the Chinese national with local characteristics based on “five identifications” through field interviews,participant observation and review of relevant archival materials: The first one is the practice path construction based on national identity such as national flag and national anthem symbols,campus buildings and rules and regulations;The second one is the practice path construction based on cultural identity such as minority festivals,Chinese traditional festivals and “June 1st”Children’s Day celebrations;the third one is the practice path construction based on ethnic identity such as “Ethnic Costume Day”,“Beautiful Market” and “Language Festival” extracurricular activities;The fourth one is the practice path construction based on identity identity such as “Home-School Co-Teaching and School-Enterprise Co-Education”,“Local Textbooks and National Textbooks” and “Characteristic Courses” school-based courses.Through the microcosm of B Primary School case,this paper summarizes the practice paths and strategic characteristics of fostering a strong sense of community for the Chinese national in primary school education stage.The case experience reflects that the education practice of fostering a strong sense of community for the Chinese national should not neglect to cultivate students’ identification with their own ethnic group while emphasizing their recognition of the Chinese national family.At the same time,it provides reference for the specific practice of fostering a strong sense of community for the Chinese national in primary schools in other regions. |
