Research On The Impact Of Neoliberalism On China’s Economic Reform And Countermeasures

The main theme of neoliberalism,which originated from Western classical liberalism,is "liberalization,privatization and marketization",which is actually a kind of capitalist social thinking under the packaging of economic theory.The aim is to bring all countries in the world into the capitalist system by promoting the so-called universal values such as"freedom,democracy and human rights.With the advancement of economic globalization,neoliberalism has been expanding globally,and with the favor of international monopoly capital,it was once promoted and applied globally as a remedy for various economic problems,among which the "Washington Consensus" and "shock therapy" are the most typical,bringing great harm to many countries and regions in the world.Although the criticism of neoliberalism has reached a new climax,and more and more people have realized that neoliberalism is a class attribute of profit-making for capital and cannot really promote healthy economic development,and some people have even made the assertion that "neoliberalism is dead",we still have to realize soberly that neoliberalism has not ceased to exist,but continues to strengthen the concept and use various variations and more covert means to actively look for opportunities to try to return to the dominant position in theory and practice.China is now in a critical period of comprehensive and deepening reform,and it is necessary to beware of various neoliberal discourses,to distinguish between its theoretical claims and policy proposals,and to ensure that the reform is steadily progressing in the right direction.This paper first compares “neoliberalism” and “newliberalism”,and makes clear that the object of study is neoliberalism,which has deep theoretical origins and complex socio-historical background,and the development process has undergone transmutation from academic theory to political practice and then to ideological expansion.Second,it discusses that the spread of neoliberalism in China is closely related to the domestic environment and the international context of globalization,and after going through the stages of introduction,proliferation and rational examination,its spread is increasingly characterized by concealment and gradualness,and further analyzes the basic claims of neoliberalism in China and the negative impact on China’s economic development if neoliberalism is allowed to develop and spread.Finally,we propose countermeasures to dissipate the influence of neoliberalism in view of its economic theory and ideological attributes,using Marxist theory as a guide and analyzing from four aspects: construction of ideology,construction of socialist political economy with Chinese characteristics,practice of socialist market economy,and building a community with a shared future for mankind.
