Critique Of The Neoliberalism Values

Neoliberalism is an influential political and economic theory,the famous“socialist economic debate” is the sign of entering the stage of history in 1927.It began to appear on the political scene in the late 20 th century after more than 50 years of theoretical development,President Reagan and British prime minister Margaret thatcher jointly launched the neoliberal reform movement as the symbol.Since then,it began to expand globally.The core theories of neoliberalism are private property system,minimum government theory and free market theory.What underpins and sustains its theory is its values,these values spread around the world along with the globalization of capital,it was called “universal values” and became the ideology of western countries to interfere and subvert other hostile countries.Neoliberal values emphasize private property rights in economics;In politics,it advocates constitutionalism(the most typical is the separation of powers and checks and balances),It advocates abstract values such as freedom,democracy and human rights,even the concept of “human rights above sovereignty”;and cultural hegemony mainly based on the excuse of“cultural globalization” in the aspect of culture.The philosophical basis of neoliberal values is individualism,and its value evaluation criterion is utilitarianism,it is a reflection of the acquisitive nature of capital.Its values fundamentally serve the capital system,support and reflect the interests of capital,and defend the rationality and legitimacy of the capital system.Specifically,the freedom in neoliberal values is to maintain the freedom of private property system and capital;Democracy embodies the democracy of the rights of the few and the rich in the capitalist society,and represents the interests of the few monopoly capital;Human rights is a political form of bourgeois concept of human rights,the expansion of which even threatens the sovereignty of other countries.The essence of private property right is to safeguard the inviolability of capital interests and rights.Although the neoliberal theory and its values represent the ideology of capitalism,it cannot be completely denied.There are also some beneficial factors,such as it emphasize the role of market in resource allocation and the importance of the concept of the rule of law,which still have some positive significance to us.But we must befully aware of the threat of neoliberal theories and values to the economic and social development and ideological security of our country and many other countries in the world.We must take effective measures to meet its challenges on the basis of adhering to the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics.Meanwhile,we must vigorously advocate socialist core values,guide the development of ideology with marxist theory,resolutely resist the infiltration and invasion of neoliberal theory and its values,and provide scientific theory and effective value guidance and support for China's economic and social development.
