The Evolution Of The Guiding Ideology Of The Communist Party Of China During The Period Of Socialist Revolution And Construction

The guiding ideology of the CPC is the crystallization of all the ideology and theories of the Party,and is an important guideline for the direction of the development of the Party and the country.It has been continuously enriched and improved during the century-long development of the Party,forming the latest theoretical achievements of the sinicization of Marxism,but during the period of socialist construction,the guiding ideology of the Party has seen complex trends of change,constantly showing the intertwining development of correct and wrong tendencies.Understanding the development of the Party’s guiding ideology during this period is instructive for our firm theoretical confidence and socialist modernization today.This paper studies the evolution of the Party’s guiding ideology during the period of socialist revolution and construction by means of the logical and historical unification method,the method of linking theory to practice,and the literature research method,and divides it into three stages according to the chronological order and the development status of guiding ideology.The first stage,from the founding of New China to the Eighth Party Congress,mainly deals with the continued development of Mao Zedong Thought after it was established as the guiding ideology of the Party at the Seventh Congress,proposing the construction of a new democratic society and the general line of the transitional period,and finally realizing the transition to a socialist society through the Three Great Transformations and establishing the correct line of approach at the Eighth CPC Congress.In the second stage,from the Eighth Party Congress to the Cultural Revolution,the Party’s guiding ideology began to show the "leftist" tendency of pursuing rapid economic development,carrying out socialist revolution in politics,and politicizing literary and artistic works,and the intertwined development of the two tendencies in socialist economic,political and cultural construction.The third stage was from the Cultural Revolution to the period of the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee.At this stage,the Party’s erroneous ideas dominated,emphasizing class struggle as the platform,using revolution to impact production,identifying intellectuals as bourgeois in the field of culture and education,and carrying out ideological transformation of intellectuals.Later,through the continuous efforts of the Party’s leadership collective,the guiding ideology gradually shifted from erroneous tendencies to the scientific development of Marxism,and after the great discussion on the standard of truth,the dogmatism of the two Vanities was overcome,Finally,at the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee,the ideological line of seeking truth from facts was re-established,and the work center of the Party and the State shifted to economic construction and proposed a strategic policy of reform and opening up,establishing the goal of realizing a socialist modernized country.By studying the evolution of the Party’s guiding ideology during this period and scientifically summarizing successful experiences and lessons learned from mistakes,we understand that we should always adhere to the Party’s guiding ideology,adhere to the excellent style of linking theory with practice,constantly recognize the characteristics of the Party’s guiding ideology of keeping pace with the times and inheriting and developing,promote the Party’s theoretical and practical innovations,focus on developing the Party’s internal democracy,improve the socialist legal system,and gradually enrich the theoretical achievements of the sinicization of Marxism.
