An Analysis Of The State View In Engels’ "The Origin Of The Family,Private Ownership,and The State"

In recent years,the study of the "Marxist concept of the state" has received much attention and become a hot topic in the field of political philosophy.As the guiding ideology of our country,Marxist theory has withstood the test of time and practice,and still shines with the light of truth to this day.China has entered a new era,facing significant changes in the international and domestic environment.The new historical orientation and mission of the times require the Party and the country to continuously integrate the basic theories of Marxism with China’s specific reality,inherit and develop the Marxist national view in the process of learning and researching the revolutionary theories of classic writers,in order to contribute new wisdom and new solutions to the construction and development of national governance in the new era.Engels,as Marx’s closest comrade in arms and partner,claimed to be Marx’s "second violinist",which shows that "Marx and Engels" are inseparable.His book "The Origins of the Family,Private Ownership,and the State"(hereinafter referred to as "The Origins")is the most concentrated and rich work by Engels on state issues.Studying the state theory in "The Origins" can make our thinking on state issues more in-depth and clear.At the same time,Engels used historical materialism to explain the relationship between family,private ownership and the state,revealed the essence and historical process of the emergence of the state,and made scientific answers to the origin and development laws of the state.The Marxist concept of the state has been enriched on the basis of Engels,becoming one of the core of Marxist political philosophy,and its contemporary significance goes far beyond that.This article mainly consists of the following four parts.The first part is the introduction.This mainly includes the research background,significance,current research status at home and abroad,content,methods,and innovative points of the "Origin" text,especially the Chinese family view issues in "Origin",both domestically and internationally.The second part is the background of the formation of Engels’ national view.It mainly provides a detailed review of the historical background,theoretical origins,and specific formation process of Engels’ national view.On the one hand,when discussing the historical background of the formation of Engels’ national view,the discussion mainly focuses on two aspects: the gradual emergence of contradictions in capitalist society and the rise of the proletarian movement;On the other hand,when sorting out the theoretical origin of the formation of Engels’ view of state,it mainly summarizes Hegel’s rational view of state,Utopian socialism’s view of state and Marx’s view of state.The third part is an important exposition of the Chinese school theory in "Origin".Firstly,it introduces the origin of the state from two aspects: clan and state,private ownership and state;Secondly,it analyzed the basic characteristics of national organizations,including regional characteristics,"public power" characteristics,and institutional characteristics,which were different from the old clan organizations;It once again discusses the dual essential attributes of class and social nature of the state,as well as the functions of the state determined by its nature,namely political rule and public management;Finally,it reveals the future development trend of the country,that is,the country will inevitably go towards extinction,and the ways to achieve national extinction.The fourth part is the contemporary value of the state theory in "Origin",including theoretical value and practical value.On the one hand,the paper points out that the state theory in Origin greatly enriched the historical materialism and Marxist view of state,provided a theoretical basis for the contemporary multi-ethnic unified country to deal with national problems,and provided ideological weapons for the proletarian revolutionary movement and the international communist movement;On the other hand,the paper combines the historical background of the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era,and mainly analyzes the current practical significance of the "Origin" national theory from the perspectives of adhering to people’s democratic dictatorship,strengthening public service capabilities,adhering to the socialist path,and vigorously developing productive forces.
