With the vigorous development of the educational informationization industry and the continuous maturity of artificial intelligence technology,education companion robot has attracted extensive attention as a typical representative of educational applications.However,due to the fact that function of today’s education companion robot products is difficult to guarantee,and their openness and scalability are relatively poor,therefore such products still cannot meet application requirements of education companion robot.At the same time,as education knowledge service carriers,education companion robot can provide platform for students to stimulate their learning interest and develop their comprehensive ability.Based on the theory of constructivism and pragmatism,this paper designed and developed an education companion robot to provide learners with automatic following,voice control transfer,and educational knowledge quiz,combining with the Arduino electronic interactive platform and ROS robot operating system.The main work are as follows:(1)This paper designed an Arduino-based education companion robot system.In combination with the application requirements of education companion robots,this paper designed the hardware modules,software modules and shape of the education companion robots in detail.Of which,the hardware module includes three parts:power control,servo movement and WIFI communication.And the software module has achieved the function design of the learner’s automatic following,voice control transfer and the educational knowledge voice question and answer.(2)It researched the voice interaction method of education companion robot.Using the point-to-point scalable communication mechanism of ROS,the function of speech recognition,speech control,and speech synthesis of education companion robot were realized based on the IFLYTEK speech recognition function package.With the method of Turing-based knowledge base construction,this paper made the Q&A exchanges between the learner and educational robot come true.(3)According to the requirements of the design and overall structure,this paper completed the development of education companion robot system,focusing on the realization of learner detection and automatic following,voice control transfer of education robot and educational knowledge voice question and answer.Through system testing,this robot system can provide a better education companion service for learners.
