| As an important vehicle for designing teaching and learning and a direct basis for organizing learning, the unified version of middle school language textbooks is a key learning material for teachers and students. As a part of the reading aid system, the unit introduction takes up a relatively small amount of space, but it is written with an advanced and innovative concept and a scientific and rigorous structure. The unit introduction helps teachers and students understand the editor’s intention, clarify the learning content, specify the learning objectives and master the learning methods with concise and concise contents,so as to guide the language teaching practice.Although the practical value of unit introductions is high,in the actual teaching process, the use of unit introductions is low,and teachers and students tend to ignore their usefulness and use them poorly, which leads to the value of unit introductions not being given full play.Based on this, this paper defines the concept of unit introduction in the unified version of middle school language textbooks, and sorts out the role and writing characteristics of unit introduction. On the basis of the results,we propose strategies for using unit introductions in language teaching, including teachers’ careful study of unit introductions when preparing lessons, guiding students to pay attention to unit introductions during lessons, and using unit introductions to reflect on teaching and learning after lessons. In addition,we expand the use of unit introductions by creating learning contexts, providing learning scaffolds, organizing learning activities, and integrating unit instruction. We hope to contribute to the effective use of unit introductions in language teaching by improving the effectiveness of unit introductions in many ways and improving teachers’ teaching quality and students’ learning ability. |
