The science curriculum standard clearly proposes to improve students’ inquiry ability.Experiment is not only an important method for students to acquire scientific knowledge,but also a carrier for students to experience scientific methods and research process,and improve their ability and literacy.In the practice of science teaching in schools,due to the limitations of learning progress and class hours,experiments are not carried out widely and students’ experimental experience is not sufficient,so it is difficult to achieve the goal of improving students’ scientific inquiry ability.Develop micro experiments that match the scientific teaching content,guide students to complete after class,and try to improve students’ scientific inquiry ability.Micro experiment,or micro experiment,refers to the experimental method and technology to obtain information with as few experimental equipment and steps as possible.Firstly,through literature research,this study combs the characteristics and functions of micro experiment,defines the connotation and teaching strategies of scientific inquiry ability,and determines the development model of micro experiment and the evaluation method of scientific inquiry ability.Secondly,taking the science course in Grade 8 as an example,after fully combing the textbook experiments,11 pre class and 9 post class micro experiments were designed,and the teaching objectives and experimental contents of each micro experiment were determined.Then the micro experiment teaching modes in different stages are designed,namely "analyzing teaching materials","selecting experiments","setting goals","designing schemes","practice" and "evaluation".Combined with specific teaching examples,the process of scientific micro experiment before or after class is put forward.Secondly,based on the existing teaching model,build a teaching model suitable for scientific micro experiment.Junior middle school students’ cognitive stage develops rapidly,so this study adjusts the teaching mode and constructs the teaching mode of micro experiment teaching in the early,middle and late stages.Then the series of micro experiments developed in the early stage are carried out according to the teaching mode of different stages.The micro experiment teaching practice lasted one year.This study tested the teaching effect of micro experiment.On the basis of literature review,the evaluation framework of scientific inquiry ability is constructed,and the scientific inquiry task of "exploring the main components of lanjieling" is designed.Taking 50 students in the experimental group and 50 students in the control group as subjects,an experimental inquiry task test was conducted.It is found that micro experiments can improve students’ scientific inquiry ability,and play different roles in the development of different dimensional abilities.Among them,the "scheme design ability","experiment operation ability","explanation and conclusion ability" and "communication and reflection ability" have been significantly improved.According to the practice results,this study gives the following teaching suggestions to the majority of Science Teachers: we should grasp the basic knowledge,pay attention to safety education,prepare the experimental package in advance,and pay attention to the full coordination of time.
