| With the modernization of the army, the number of university students recruited in China is increasing, and university students are becoming an indispensable part of the national defence force. The group of college students returning to school is also getting bigger and bigger, and the group of retired college students is gradually becoming a group that cannot be ignored in various universities. For a long time, people have paid more attention to the benefits of joining the army than to the placement of discharged soldiers, and the transition from the camp gate to the school gate has not attracted enough attention compared to the magnificent transformation from university student to soldier. The "retired syndrome" of student veterans refers to the various psychological discomforts, cognitive and behavioural deviations that arise when student veterans return to school after being discharged from the army. This study uses a combination of empirical and qualitative research methods, using a self-administered questionnaire and semi-structured interviews to collect data on the return from military service, daily life and life goal planning situation of student veterans returning to school.Having served in the military, the author was able to empathise better with the research subjects,to understand their thoughts on a deeper and more realistic level, and to better grasp the symptoms of "retirement syndrome".Through a review of relevant studies at home and abroad, the current studies on student veterans all interpret the behavioral choices and various behavioral representations of student veterans, lacking deep-seated cognitive processes and motivational preferences. The author believes that human beings are self-aware and self-regulating subjects, not just reactive organisms shaped by the forces of adaptation to the external environment. Therefore, this paper uses self-efficacy theory as a perspective and attempts to analyse the "retirement syndrome" in terms of cognition and motivation,in order to provide a new tool for the study of student veterans. In this study,we interpret the manifestations of "Retired syndrome" and diagnose the symptoms from the perspective of the self, with a view to helping student veterans release the shackles in their minds, promoting the overall development of student veterans and the better use of human resources for student veterans in universities. On the basis of participant observation, the author selects typical cases for social work intervention, collects data and measures the clients on a scale to anticipate the main problems faced, and formulates a relevant service plan.At the same time, professional social work techniques and theorie are used to help clients to get rid of irrational emotions and perceptions and to correct behavioural deviations.Through the evaluation of the service programme, the results of the intervention are summarised and reflected upon, and recommendations are made for the healing of the "Retired syndrome" among student veterans returning from military service. |
