With the acceleration of modernization and the continuous expansion of urbanization in China,more and more farmers are entering cities and towns to work,and the main form of mobility was to go out with the whole family,therefore,the number of migrant children has increased year by year.Affected by economic income,children number and job nature,most families of migrant children live in urban villages or shantytowns,where there are complex personnel structures,messy community layout,lack of public facilities,with a high probability of child sexual abuse.The reason for the high probability lies in the lack of family sex education,the lack of sex education in schools,the shortage of sex education in residential community and the low safety factor of living environment.Consequently,it is urgent to carry out sexual assault prevention education for migrant children.Taking the migrant children in the village community J of Guiyang City as the survey object,this study made a comprehensive analysis of their current situation and needs of sex education by using the literature research method,participatory observation and investigation method.It was found that the main problems they existed: insufficient acceptance of sex education,poor understanding and protection of privacy,weak awareness of sexual assault,lack of understanding of the community and so on.After analyzing these problems,it is concluded that they had the need to know the difference between themselves and the opposite sex,to protect physical and life privacy,to understand and prevent sexual assault,and to be familiar with the community.On the basis of needs assessment,11 migrant children being recruited as service objects,this study designed and carried out 7group activities under the guidance of Erickson’s Personality Development Theory and Social Learning Theory,taking the T Children’s Center in J Community as a platform.7group activities included drawing cartoons,reading picture books,making handmade bed curtains,observing the community,playing roles,perceiving experience,and knowledge contests,so as to cultivate their awareness of privacy protection,improve their awareness of sexual assault and abilities of self-protection,and strengthen their awareness of the living community and their sexuality education level.Through the evaluation of the group activity process and results,it was found that the intervention of this group activity had achieved remarkable results,and the group members’ awareness of sex and physiology,privacy protection,sexual assault prevention,community safety and other aspects was raised in varying degree.But there are also some deficiencies in activities,including the low parental interaction and participation,the understanding of the theory was not deep enough,the lack of excavation of sexual knowledge and so on.Based on reflection on research and practice,suggestions were put forward on sexual assault prevention education for migrating children in the future,including strengthening the families’ responsibility for sex education,innovating sex education form in schools,building the community protective barrier,constructing the social support system and jointly promoting the development of sex education.
