The Emotional Labor Of Social Workers In Community Drug Rehabilitation

In the field of drug rehabilitation and rehabilitation,social work has always played an important role.They use professional methods to help rehabilitation subjects get out of the haze of relapse and return to normal life.In addition to professional theory and professional methods,emotion also plays an important role in the service process of social work,and social work is considered to be a professional service full of emotion.However,in the current study,the researchers mainly focus on the recovered people.They study how to help the recovered patients return to normal life.They pay less attention to the social workers who participate and play an important role,let alone the social workers in the rehabilitation service work.Emotional labor in.Therefore,this paper adopts a qualitative research method to study the emotional labor of social workers in the field of drug rehabilitation.The author selects the social work institutions that have been contacted during the research that have been effective in drug rehabilitation as the research site,and will go to the institution for internships from September 2021 to February 2022,and join the social work group of the institution through participation in observation.Observing their emotional involvement in the work process,and further verifying the observations and obtaining more information through in-depth interviews with 10 social workers and 6 service clients.Field investigations show that drug rehabilitation social workers bear a lot of emotional burdens that are different from those of general social workers in the process of providing professional services.Based on this,the article analyzes the emotional labor process,action mechanism and emotional protection mechanism of drug rehabilitation social workers,and draws the following research conclusions:First,the emotional burden experienced by drug rehabilitation social workers in the process of professional services mainly includes breakthroughs in establishing relationships,the pull of work content and professional roles,and the large consumption of personal costs,the emotional labor form used is intertwined with shallow acting and deep acting;second,social workers can generate a large number of Emotional energy works by helping clients regain trust and respect,establishing positive cognition,and forming a long-term mechanism to overcome dependence;third,social workers will receive the most direct emotional feedback from clients in the process of emotional labor.To supplement their emotional energy,they will also adopt certain personal adjustment mechanisms,including positive strategies,transfer strategies and preventive strategies.In addition,colleagues,institutions and families also play a certain role in emotional support.To sum up,this paper broadens the research on emotional labor of social workers in specific fields through the research on emotional labor of social workers in the field of drug rehabilitation and rehabilitation,and provides a reference for the development and protection of emotional labor of social workers.
