Happiness refers to a positive psychological state characterized by a high level of life satisfaction,a high level of positive emotions and a low level of negative emotions. One of the main goals of China’s social and economic development is to improve residents’ life satisfaction. Therefore,it is of great significance to reveal the main factors affecting residents’ SWB(Subjective Well-Being),find the correct methods to improve residents’ SWB,and offer effective suggestions to improve residents’ life satisfaction and SWB.With the data of China General Social Survey in 2017(CGSS2017),this thesis studies and analyzes the influencing factors of residents’ subjective well-being.First of all,the raw data are processed via data cleaning.Secondly, using factor analysis method, three common factors of social and economic status, family relationship and mental health were extracted as independent variables, and subjective well-being was taken as dependent variables to establish a linear regression mode,to investigate the influence of social economic status, family relationship, mental health and other factors on residents’ subjective well-being.As the same time, demographic variables were considered as control variables,to investigate the influence of social and economic status, family relationship and mental health on residents’ subjective well-being was studied after adding control variables. Then select residents’ mental health status as an intervening variable,by establishing a structural equation model to study whether the latent variables of social economic status and family relationships will be affected by the mental health status of residents and affect residents’ subjective well-being,to test whether the mediating variable in the model is significant. Finally, age, gender, marital status, education level, urban and rural residence and other factors were studied and analyzed by multi-group analysis, under the background of different demographic variables, the thesis studies whether there are differences among the influencing paths of residents’ subjective well-being and what specific differences exist. In this thesis, some new conclusions are drawn by analyzing the factors that affect the subjective well-being of residents from different perspectives. Therefore,at the end of this thesis, corresponding opinions and suggestions are put forward for the improvement of the subjective wellbeing of residents from different perspectives. The main research results of this thesis are as follows:(1)The current situation of residents subjective well-being,family relations, mental health status, social and economic status are as follows:The overall level of subjective well-being of residents is high and their mental health status is good, the majority of residents are rarely affected by negative emotions. The middle class occupies the largest proportion in the overall social and economic status of residents at the present stage. The overall family relationship of residents is good, and the majority of residents are rarely troubled by the disharmonious family relationship.(2)The results of linear regression analysis show that socioeconomic status, family relationship and mental health status have positive effects on residents’ SWB,and the effects are still significant after the addition of demographic control variables such as gender and age.(3)The results of structural equation model show that mental health status has significant mediating effect between socioeconomic status and SWB,and between family relationship and SWB.Socioeconomic status and family relationship both affect residents’ SWB through influencing their mental health.(4)The multi-group analysis results showed that: there is no significant difference between male and female in the influencing factors of residents’ subjective wellbeing. However, there are significant differences in some influence paths among people of different age groups, education level, marital status and urban and rural residence. The analysis shows that age, education level, marital status and urban and rural residence all have moderating effects on the model.
