Research On The Construction And Communication Mechanism Of E-Sports Cultural Symbols

With the continuous expansion of the e-sports industry,e-sports has also been successfully selected as the official event of the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.Many e-sports cultural symbols are becoming a part of people’s daily life,but the negative evaluation of e-sports in the society still exists.Through the analysis of e-sports cultural symbols,we can better understand the connotation of e-sports culture and promote the healthy development of e-sports culture.This article uses in-depth interviews,participatory observations,case analysis and other methods to conduct in-depth observations on the main platforms for gathering and producing e-sports cultural content such as b-site,Hupu,Weibo,Zhihu,Pocket of League of Legends,and score.Competitive games such as League of Legends,DOTA2,Hearthstone,Glory of the Kings,League of Legends mobile game,CSGO,Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds and other game modes and event operations experience and feel,combined with semiotics,communication and other related theories to summarize e-sports cultural symbols The characteristics of construction and communication.This article first distinguishes between e-sports games and electronic games,and classifies the symbols of e-sports culture into two categories: e-sports game cultural symbols and e-sports cultural symbols.Secondly,it summarizes and combs the construction and communication mechanism of e-sports cultural symbols.It is believed that the formation of symbolic text is mainly based on the interaction between the principle of simplification,the principle of similarity and the principle of retrospect,and through the accumulation of meaning,it becomes a thorny point and The way of recording media events is highlighted in numerous text symbols.The symbolic text can finally spread widely because the symbolic text presents the group self,the symbolic text forms a spiritual resonance with the group,and the use of the symbolic text gives the group pleasure and satisfaction.Finally,the author summarized the problems arising from the production and dissemination of e-sports cultural symbols.One is that gender antagonism is intensified,the other is that players are likely to be overly addicted,and the third is that they are excessively pursuing commercial interests.It is hoped that e-sports practitioners can pay attention to these issues,so as to create a green and healthy e-sports culture and better assume social responsibilities.
