Primary school students are in the stage of physical and mental changes and vigorous cognitive development,which has the characteristics of strong imitation and plasticity.Academic achievement is one of the important evaluation methods to evaluate whether the educational objectives are achieved in primary school.It can reflect the students’ learning state and mastery of cultural knowledge in a certain period of time.It is an important index to measure the pupils’ learning ability.The level of academic achievement directly affects pupils’ self-confidence and sense of achievement,which is not only related to students’ learning,but also related to students’ growth.Therefore,understanding the overall situation of parents’ participation and students’ self expectation and providing suggestions to improve the quality of parents’ participation and students’ self expectation are the requirements of improving the quality of family education.At the same time,they also meet the needs of pupils’ all-round physical and mental development,which is conducive to promoting students’ better academic performance.This study takes primary school students from grade 4 to grade 6 in Shihezi as the research object,investigates the current situation of parents’ participation and students’ self expectation,and carries out the research from the current situation of parents’ participation and students’ self expectation,difference analysis,correlation analysis,regression analysis and mediation.The following conclusions are drawn:(1)there are significant gender differences in self expectation,father participation and English achievement,and boys’ self expectation learning attitude Academic performance and learning behavior were significantly lower than those of girls.(2)There are significant differences in mother participation,self expected learning attitude,learning behavior and academic performance of different grades of primary school students.The self expectation of primary school students in Grade 5 is the highest.With the growth of age,their self expectation first increases and then decreases.(3)There are significant differences in self expectation,mother’s communication and supervision,Chinese achievement,English achievement and total academic achievement.The mother’s communication score for the only child is significantly higher than that of the non only child.(4)There are significant differences in self expectation,parents’ expectation,communication with mother and academic performance of each subject in whether the class cadre.The score of communication between students with class cadre and their mother is significantly higher than that of students without class cadre.(5)There are significant differences in family structure in self expectation,parental participation and academic performance of various subjects.Primary school students from native families have higher expectations for self-education.(6)There is a significant positive correlation among parental participation,self expectation and academic achievement.The higher the degree of parental participation,the more concerned about students,and the higher the students’ self expectation,the more conducive it is for primary school students to achieve higher academic achievement.(7)Students’ self expectation plays an intermediary role between parents’ participation and pupils’ academic achievement.Parents’ participation in students’ learning and supervision and behavior management are conducive to students’ improving academic achievement expectation and academic achievement.Accordingly,suggestions are put forward in three aspects: students,families and schools.First of all,we should cultivate students’ good learning attitude,stimulate learning interest and cultivate good emotional values;Secondly,parents should enhance their awareness of participation,pay attention to their children’s emotional experience,adjust their educational expectations and improve the quality of participation;Finally,schools should carry out a variety of parent-child activities to provide learning exchange opportunities;Strengthen the exchange and cooperation between home and school,and improve the management mechanism of home and school.
